I had this feeling when he pitched in LA. To this day I'm shocked he pulled game 3 out of his behind against yall once he gave up that massive first inning homer to Schwarber. I thought he was gonna unravel

It's just really weird to see because I'm just a dude watching baseball and even I can tell he freaks the frick out.

Supposedly the mentally weak thing has been a rumor for awhile so it doesn't surprise me.

Chatwood is the worst. He's getting paid like 13.5 to be completely unplayable.

cmon, do you even watch the games bro?

He's not worth the money obviously but has played well in his role this year, and has been really good as of late

I gave your thread the response it deserved. Asking what went wrong for a division leading team with a more recent championship is terrible bait.

I haven't looked at the stats but dont the Cubs have a really bizarre string of bad games when playing on the road?

I feel like a lot of the issues this year are pretty flukey. But I get the feeling that the long term outlook for the Cubs isn't the same as it used to be

There's nothing wrong with them. They've made the playoffs the last two years and have the sixth winning highest percentage in MLB over the past three seasons. 2016 was an aberrational year. The Cubs pitching staff was historically great with an ERA+ of 133 and a bunch of their pitchers had career best years. You would need to have very unrealistic expectations to expect them to continue to have that type of success.

I think they free some money up after this year with Hamels and Zobrist expiring. It will be interesting to see what they do

2015-won 97 games and made NLCS

2016-won 103 games and the world series

2017-won 92 games and lost in the NLCS

2018-won 97 games and lost play in game

2019-tied for division lead

Seems pretty freaking solid

He wasn’t like this in Texas. LA ruined him.

It's still a productive group that is a tweak or 2 from being where they want to be.

farm system is being replenished too. Was way down after some trades and promotions but is in a nice spot right now

I watch every single game.

He has times when he's alright, but if he were getting paid minimum, he would've been DFA a very long time ago.
