I don’t know if it was Bobby Cox or just the mix of players but the Braves never seemed fired up for the playoffs/World Series. The announcers would always praise the Braves for being businesslike and not getting too up/down during the season. It was always frustrating watching them seemingly sleepwalk through some of those playoff games while the other team seemed to be playing like madmen
These issues have resurfaced the last two years, as well. Snitker learned from Cox, so it makes sense. Snitker and Cox's teams have had a very, very bad habit of losing Game 1 of the NLDS at home and really putting themselves behind the 8 ball because they come out slow and sleepwalking.

Gotta disagree, they had no depth on that team. Four aces yes, but the bullpen relied on McMichael. The phillies had the better offense (especially at catcher lol), better bench players, and bullpen. They won 97 games in 1993 but could have won 102-103 if they cared more at the end. They were in the NL east, and since pittsburgh wasn't good that year, they clinched their division early. Coasted the last week or so. They had very good starting pitching too, led by Curt Schilling. Tommy Greene and Danny Jackson had very good years, for their standards. That series was no upset, Curt sSchilling dominated the braves.

They need to make a 30 for 30 on the post season failures of the 90’s Braves. Tons of material to work with.

1997 or 1998. Although 96 hurts the worst. Just frickin brutal.

1998. Won 106 games. Pitching staff was Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz, Neagle, Millwood. That was the best staff through the entire run. Chipper and Galarraga destroyed everything in the middle of the lineup. Out of all of the playoff losses, that loaded team losing to the fricking Padres may be the worst of them all
They would have played the Yanks much tougher than San Diego did.
