I want lsu to be the national champion and thats it. A playoff also doesn't determine the best team because it rewards the team that is the hottest at the time and not the overall success through the season.

yes, if they're not good then they wont win and move on, its simple. Are you not familiar with the way all organized sports are played around the world except CFB?
regular season wins would help you get a higher seed and hence the reg season would not be diminished
That's ludicrous. CFB is different than other sports. The teams with the best resume advance. There's no reason why a shitty Big10 ten should even have the chance. Why, because there is still a chance. They don't deserve that opportunity. Period.

college football regular season is not as exciting as some make it out to be. LSU played 3 "big" games all year. One of those was against an unranked Ole Miss team. Seriously how exciting was that? Texas played no one all year. Bama played Va Tech and LSU in the regular season. Not exactly what I call must see TV week in week out. PLayoffs on the other hand would absolutely give you the 7 best matchups of the year.

Yep, this too.

yeah why play the games when we could just let writers vote on the best team.
BCS fans logic: American Idol is better than NFL playoffs

So in the nfl did you think the giants were better then the patriots when they won the super bowl. The patriots beat the giants earlier in the year at the giants stadium.

Lose 2 games in the Sec and boom into the playoff
What playoff system have you seen that would allow this
So you feel that Ohio State and GT are sooo superior that LSU would not have a logical argument that they belonged in a 8 team playoff.
I am not saying they belong, I know they dont, but I also know that Cincy and TCU and Boise dont belong either.

I wil give TCU props this year. They're pretty legit imo.

im all for a +1 system where the winner of the number one team plays #4 team plays against the winner of the #2 team against the #3 team. I don't think teams outside the top 4 should have a chance at the nc.

Exactly. There are, at most, 4 teams that should even be considered.
My concern is this: What if there is only two teams worthy of a NC? Do you still have the 4 teams? Why?

If you say yes. Well, accept the fact that they would not have been in ANY of the scenarios listed for a football playoff.
If you say no.....well, you know that a playoff does not answer ALL the questions.

I don't think playoffs answer the question on who the best team is overall. It determines who is the best team at the end and doesn't reward the top teams for season success. I personally believe it should be determined by what is done at beginning to end.

I would accept a 8 team playoff for finding the right team if they just took the top 8 teams 1-8. The problem with that is it destroys the whole point of striving to win your conference. I think it would be great in the nfl too if they took the wildcard and division winners out and put the top 8 teams in the playoffs.

Get rid of the BCS, go back to bowl tie-ins. 3 o4 teams with a chance to win the national title on New Year's Day. It made the bowls more fun to watch.
So you'd rather have Texas in the Fiesta, Alabama in the Sugar, TCU and Boise off in who gives a frick bowls, and Cincy playing GT in the Orange? That sounds horrible.
