Does getting drafted prevent a player from playing in another league?

Your basic premise that monopoly and socialism go hand and hand is wrong.

I don't think they necessarily do generally speaking.

What other league could say, Jameis Winston, play in?

Wrong. The NFL is the company. Dallas is the manager.

Still don't understand Congress's role in the nfl but that's too deep for tonight

The Supreme court said the NFL is 32 separate companies.

The Arena Football League, but that's irrelevant. The NFL has the right to create its own rules, regardless of whether or not it has a monopoly over the sport of football.

that's not a viable alternative and you know it

#1 "The NFL", according to the Supreme Court, is not a single entity.

#2 Am I to take it that you would be okay with my engineer or lawyer hypothetical?

I've always thought this but it makes for way better all around leagues. The ironic thing is people call soccer un-American yet the way the leagues are run in Europe is way more "American."

I just want a college football player to not sign up for the draft, wait a while then sign with their hometown team

That's not how it works

What are you basing that on? Don't say parity because academic study after academic study have show that greater parity actually decreases fan interest.

Because the NFL is like a live-action board game with rules in place to make it "even" amongst the competitors sitting at the table (the owners).

It's a competition.

So it's no fun to compete against a guy who can buy the best team.

It's entertainment... not the economy.

Having a draft is ridiculous. I would absolutely hate it if I were a player. I would definitely try to pull an Eli Manning. I would refuse to play for a city I wouldn't want to live in.

It's as much a part of the economy as anything else.

You're talking about human beings not game pieces on a board. That kind of mentality is the heart of the problem.

Your little progressive world is crumbling all around you, so you resort to making retarded threads on the MSB. You're pathetic.

Because you feel like everyone has a chance to win a championship whereas in Europe the same 4 or 5 teams always win. It's cool watching Barcelona and Real Madrid square off and I'd love to see two teams like that in the NBA go at one another. However imo it's much more interesting to watch American leagues top to bottom.

Go read Soccernomics, they have an entire chapter dedicated to the "parity makes it more interesting" fallacy.
