there is more action than baseball. you are limited in what you do on offense in baseball, due to the nature of the game. the runner will go to 1st. then 2nd. then 3rd. then home. in football/basketball/soccer, there is 360-degree movement (within the lines of the field)
so let me get this straight. the degrees of motion solely dictate the complexity of a game

by this logic, we should start a professional league for chutes and ladders

What are these size requirements?
Basketball? Really tall

Football? Really wide.

Baseball is for middle-sized guys.

I have attended many different games at many different venues. Baseball is clearly the best.

is that the only thing i listed?

and yes, rouge. having to deal with a person who can move in any direction (and worrying about his 4/10 other teammates moving as well) is a lot more complex than knowing there is a runner on 2nd (and knowing he can remain or has 1 other destination)

other than the picther-hitter matchup (and i'm being nice by just giving you that), anything you bring up in baseball exists in basketball/soccer (and i assume hockey). but the static nature of offense makes strategy in baseball much easier, by default.

That's because basketball arenas are much smaller than baseball stadiums.

So, if basketball arenas held 50K then they would fill up? Really stupid.

did you even watch baseball last seaon?

who saw the Giants and Rangers coming?

the reds coming out of pretty much nowhere?

the Rays....the fricking rays...making the Series in 2008

the Rockies....the fricking rockis...making the Series in 2007

are far as teams competing and having a shot to make it to the World Series, baseball has a much parity as any major sport

Basketball arenas are twice as small and host half the games that a MLB stadium does. if the Lakers expanded Staples to 26k, I bet it would still sellout.

Basketball is a sport that needs to be watched from a reasonably close distance to the court to be appreciated. You can sit in the nosebleeds in baseball and still get to see the players stand around and react every once in awhile.

Look at the lower attendances here and compare to a good NBA environment

Granted attendance is down in the NBA, the percent capacity is not near as low as some of these MLB stadiums.

MLB The Show disagrees.

The Show 10 > Madden 11 and NCAA 11 combined

and with a shitload of room to spare.

Yeah....I don't give a shite about any of these teams. I misspoke, they matter to alot of people to that area, they don't matter to me.

but let me give you this analogy......what if an NFL offense had to use a different starting QB every 5 games? a QB that brought very different attributes to the field.

well i was talking in-game strategy

i mean you do realize in football a defense will see 20-30 formations, right? and the personnel will change. and that's within a game. the gameplans for each week change too.

i get what you say about the pitchers changing, but i was talking more in-game

FIFA is probably the second best selling sports sim in the US behind only Madden.

Football Manager is an insanely complex game that is the closest you can get to actually managing a sports team. The scouting involved requires individually rating thousands of players around the world. Everton Football Club even uses it for scouting as they personally bought the rights to see FM's scouting before the game is released worldwide. Just download the demo and see how complex it is for just one of the league's available.
