And Liz comparing soccer players to male ice skaters hurts

Sorry, it wasn't a direct comparison, just trying to explain why some people don't "get it" and how the people who love it, and participate in it must feel misunderstood.

golf is popular because it seems like anyone can play it and play at a high level. People see John D and think "damn, I can do that."

It's not exactly great exposure.

This shite sucks, that the bottom line to the average american fan.

Maybe, but their are arguments laid out in this thread that show it is growing more popular.

It doesnt bother me.

It doesn't bother me that people don't like soccer. What does bother me is the type of stupidity displayed in this thread.

What does is soccer fans who get so pissy because their sport sucks.

You're the only one who sounds pissy.

I think you are the one who has sounded pissy throughout this thread and other soccer hate threads.

I think the opposite; I have swung a golf club, and, uh, it's A; NOT going more than 50 yards and B: Direction is not something I control,

it's a lot easier to kick a soccer ball straight than it is to hit a decent golf ball to the average person

no dought but look at a pro golfer and a pro soccer player and note the differences in body type.

I'm sorry that cogent arguments upset you so much. It's not my fault you're an idiot.

Is that supposed to resemble some semblance of soccer skill? The individual technique in soccer is about the same as in golf, but in soccer it's greater because of the team dynamics.

nope and i never said anything close to that. there's also a lot more to golf than driving a ball 250 yards somewhat straight.
