the NCAA is an outdated organization and they are trying to govern too many different memberships across all divisions

I do think the power 5 need to separate to create their own rules and structure and it would eliminate a lot of the ridiculous rules in place that are next to impossible to enforce

Are you trying to say someone is going to confiscate the money he earns by signing autographs?

*yawn* So we're going to be obtuse about this?

Alright.

What I'm saying is that someone should not be barred from profiting on their image to maintain the ability to participate in a sport or job. Is there any other field outside of college sports that I could be barred from participating in if I took $20 for my autograph? Because if so, please do expound because I'm drawing a blank.

Yep.

Always have to deal with the “DON’T LIKE IT?! GO DO SOMETHING ELSE!” crowd.

They aren’t. Being ineligible by NCAA rules is not the same as being barred from a sport or job. They are free to seek employment playing their sport outside of the NCAA.

Yes, but be careful what you wish for. The grass isn't greener on the other side, and I don't the "DOWN WITH THE NCAA! THE MAJOR SCHOOLS NEED TO SPLIT OFF AND FORM THEIR OWN ORGANIZATION WHERE PLAYERS CAN BE PAID!" crowd realizes just how big of a failure such a concept would be.

But, it will happen, just a matter of when.

Exactly. You could apply that logic to a huge number of topics in life and get absolutely nothing accomplished.

Don't like Trump? Leave. Don't like the liberal media? Leave. Don't like you boss? Leave. Don't like your family? Leave.

That's the mentality of a quitter.

Yes all know what your argument is gonna be. Every point will be refuted by you pointing players to some imaginary minor league football league that doesn't exist and acting like it's a 'got ya'. Try harder.

I wish the top 60 or so school would leave the NCAA and start their own organization

1. This would be a massive failure

2. It would destroy the NCAA's biggest cash cow. Hint: It's not anything related to college football

Please list their options if NFL football is the ultimate goal.

If only sports had professional leagues that pay players. Maybe one day those will start to pop up.

And the annual NCAA cash cow that generates them billions of dollars is destroyed in the process

I don't think you guys realize how much money the NCAA makes from the NCAA tournament, and how a "Power 5 Only" organization would destroy that.

And no, a "NCAA Tournament" consisting of only Power 5 conferences would not be anywhere near as popular as it is now. The 64 team bracket is why its so popular.

Sounds like something you, or they, should ask the NFL...if that’s the ultimate goal.

As a member of the “don’t like it then leave” club, you should give it a shot.

My goal isn’t to play in the NFL, you’re getting way off track here. Stay on topic.

Exactly what is it you think I’m deflecting?

The basis of your entire stupid fricking argument is that the NCAA should be forced to change its rules or abandon its model because the NFL doesn’t offer a developmental league.

List these employment opportunities.

You simpleminded fricks are too obtuse to have a rational conversation with.
