I've been up there for a game, they can offer 50,000 because their stadium seats, what, about 15,000 so at 10 dollars a ticket that's $150,000 they make just on the home side not including visitors and concession. Crazy.........
Seats 10,000, more with people standing on the track. Concessions go 100% to the band. Now the real money comes from the Rebel Club. It's $250 a year per member. That gets you a polo, hat, and parking place. The Rebel Club is what funds most of the football program with a ton of members. I can't remember how many exactly, but it's 4 digits supposedly. Never been a member so I'm not sure. Season tickets is as far as I've gone so far.

WM gets alot of haters because they are what every team in LA wants to be. I was up there for the semifinals in 02 and the 2nd round game in 07 whenever they had ESPN. I was impressed with the atmosphere, the field, the fans, the cowbells were a little annoying though if i remember correctly. Coming from a lafayette public school where the athletic departments are as crappy as they can be it really opened up my eyes. Talked with some WM folks and they were very nice and you would think that they were all football coaches the way they would disect the game. I hope to be making another trip there soon

to all you people who are calling BM dirty frick OFF because no one gives a shite. FACT is we went up there on a 4 game losing streak, ranked 31st in 5A with "no shot in hell" per the rebeltards on this board and gave those country bumpkins all they could handle.
the driveman told yall all week to be on UPSET ALERT. but if you're crying because we came up into your building with a chip on our shoulder then get a life. we hit you in the mouth with nothin but speed and swag and had you on the fricking ropes. WM catches purple fever this weekend and falls to AUG.
I would give ya'll some credit if ya'll played a clean game...but ya'll didn't

Its amazing how west Monroe has had the reputation of being tough borderline dirty football program for years. I am not saying that in a bad way. Most programs who are as successful as they are have those same traits. They are hard nosed, play till the echo of the whistle kids. Good for them. What aggravates meis the fact that just because brother Martin went to your backyard and wasn't intimidated by the mistique and the pagentry' and other hoopla, and actually fought fire with fire, they are called a dirty team who cheats!

There is a huge difference in playing to the whistle and punching, kicking, and gouging eyes. I was on the sidelines next to Don Shows when he was pleading with the refs to do something about the extra curricular stuff. They didn't and that caused the near brawl at the end of the game.

Didn't see the game did you?

I was pretty close to the action myself and I will say that it absolutely went both ways the whole time! Listen, I like that kind of stuff. Im not complaining that #65 for yall was doing all of the eye gouging, kicking and late hitting that he was. Its all part of the game. The refs called personal fouls on both teams. I just never thought I'd ever hear people from West Monroe complaining that someone else was playing too rough. That blows my mind! It went both ways, why can I acknowledge and to an extent appreciate it from yalls end, but you are just floored by our "lack of discipline" or "dirty ways". Its football! Go play tennis if you dont like it. I am actually embarassed for you. Stop making your blue collar community look like a bunch of pansies. You won a hard fought, emotional football game against a team you thought wouldnt fight you like they did. Get over it. Congratulations, and good luck against St. Aug. I really hope yall win it all. Nothing but respect for the Rebel community

I've heard that WM recruits, uses roids, holds back kids, etc....but I've never gotten the impression from other teams that we play dirty.
WM players usually always have cool heads during games, which tells me that BM was starting every bit of it.
Dillon Day (#65) does have a hot head, but I've never seen him react the way he did in this game.
Wayne Hendricks even got into with Coach Barron on the sidelines. Apparently Coach Barron said "how bout you just stop making silly penalties" and Wayne said "how about frick YOU."

Honestly, I wouldn't expect anyone to be intimidated going into Rebel Stadium. As a guy who has played his fair share of sports, coming into Rebel Stadium would get me fired up. If it doesn't, you shouldn't be playing sports.

Bullsh*t. We knew he was a hot head and he took cheap shots all year. But, again, were not harping on his "rough" play. Just want you to see it both ways.

And who is classless and disrespectful? Our kids might play hard and may even cross the line sometimes, but trust me, that would NEVER happen at Brother Martin. Or if it did, Mr. Hendrick's football career would have ended right there. Lemme guess, he's gonna play this Friday, isnt he?
Again, I like WM and the community and the atmosphere and all that jazz. I just dont see why yall cant give our kids credit for what they did. They had no business being on the same field with yall and they hung tough. We only have one player on our team who could play for yall. The better team won, no doubt. But give us a little credit.

If any of you had seen the stuff I saw, heard, and took on the visitor's sidelines from 1993-2004 you would never down or accuse WM of anything. The things opposing coaches and players said about me, WM, Don Shows were amazing. The most idiotic thing was an opposing HC in 1997 accused me of relaying their plays to the WM coaches from their sidelines using hand signals. Come on!!! Another HC from south Louisiana in 1998 tried to get physical with me. For what? WM was beating his team by 50? That is just a sample. Oh yeah, Midland Lee's HC said they lost because of the humidity and mosquitoes.

Ok, guys, let me try it this again...
I have no problems with West Monroe High School, it football team, coaches, adminstrators, fans, boosters, cheerleaders, band or drill team. I loved my experience being there except for the fact that we lost a football game. West Monroe plays a physical brand of football that I can appreciate more than you know. Ask me why West Monroe won the game? They were better than Brother Martin. Ask West Monroe people why it was closer than expected? Because BM cheats! How about WM was looking past BM? Thats certainly understandable. How about BM played above their heads and actually fed off of the atmosphere where most other teams are defeated before the kickoff? I am really trying to give WM alot of credit for what they have built. But you are unwilling to accept it and completely blind to the fact that you almost got beat at your own game.

I'm glad you have no problem with WM. YOu are in a huge minority. And I have given BM a lot of credit. I think WM overlooked them. And BM almost made them pay because they are a good football team.
We'll have to agree to disagree on the difference between dirty and hard nosed, aggressive football.

yes because then it would set a precedent and every school would offer money if one school took it like that

i find it terribly ironic that a catholic league school is accusing another school of recruiting
