This was an awesome team imo. Even if you think they are over-rated are they really the worst team to ever win a title?

07 Giants are up there for me.

1) 84 BYU
2) 06 cardinals

I think the BYU team is a more egregious error because at least in MLB there is more parity than what you see between the midmajors and BCS conferences

But even as a Cardinals fan I think it is kinda bullshite that a .500 team can turn it on in the playoffs and win a World Series

My comment was based off of some posts in the "Best team to ever win a championship" thread.

1990 Colorado - That team should have had two losses on their record before the bowl game.

THIS. '5th down' Colorado team winning the championship (or atleast claiming a part of it) is/was a disgrace to college football.

Why so many TD posters include college baseball in discussions like this? It's not a legit sport along the lines of NFL, NBA, NCAFB, NCABB, NHL.

It's on par with CFL maybe. So I'm going to say that the 1998 Edmonton Eskimos were a fricking Fluke - they were 4-6 in Western Conference play for crying out loud! No Grey Cup deserved IMO.

Would have been like Seattle winning it this year.

because they follow it and know about it. Just because its not as popular of a sport, does not mean its not "legit".

I can't comment on the NHL or EPL because I don't follow them.

Much like 2007, there was no great college football team in 1990. Colorado should have had two losses. Ga Tech had a cream-puff schedule to go undefeated that year. Their tie was against a very bad UNC team that year.

How many Super Bowl winning teams have there been in the last ten years that were dominant on both sides of the ball? I'll give you a stat. Since 2000, there have only been 2 teams that have finished the season ranked in the top 10 in both total offense and defense. Those teams? The 2004 Patriots and 2010 Packers. And there hasn't been a Super Bowl winning team who finished the season ranked in the top five in both categories since the 1997 Broncos.
