Love this Altuve tidbit from the athletic

quote:

Since his first full season in 2012, he has put more than 1,000 balls in play on the first pitch — nobody in baseball is within 300 of that. He has by far the most hits on pitch one. He also has the most hits on the second pitch of the at-bat.

Will be curious to see if they even think he'd have value as a LOOGY.

Without looking at the numbers, his stuff seems more suited for righties with a change moving down and away and a cutter bearing in. I don't really see him as a lefty matchup guy.

I wonder how long the murals will stay up. That would be a cool trip to go see all 11 if we win the World Series.

Anybody think Miley could be on the WS roster?

Nah.

I think they end up dropping Abreu and adding Straw.

Assuming Pressly is really good to go. If not, then drop Pressly and add Straw.

You're going to need another versatile bat for the NL games.

Marisnick provides the versatility of a strike out swinging and a strike out looking.

That's a weird way to spell PeaQuidy.

Idk why they won't commit to Urquidy. He looked solid. Peacock hit a wall in a hurry.

I could see them using Peacock as an opener to go after the top of the lineup as hard as possible, then bring Urquidy in.

Just no reason to leave Peacock out there for another inning if he doesn't have the arm strength built up to keep it up.

Looking ahead to the roster release, would it not make sense to drop Rondon for Devo? If Hinch isn't going to use Rondon in any leverage spot (rightfully so) I'd rather have somebody more suited to eat innings in a blowout.

What about Straw for Tucker? He provides more flexibility for the NL games and it's looking like we'll have Yordan as our left handed bench bat in those 3 anyway.

They should be there for game 2.

Game 6: Dallas Keuchel and Luke Gregerson
Game 7: Carlos Gomez and Luis Valbuena

Joke's on Carlos Gomez, there won't be a game 7.

Running out of options here... Marwin was on that team but he barely played in the postseason.

Villar was on the team, but he only had one pinch running appearance int he postseason.

Maybe a Jed Lowrie appearance?

ETA: frick, I completely forgot that Luis Valbuena died.

Altuve is by far my favorite Astro ever. I didn't think anyone could top Biggio or Bagwell but I love that dude. Literally.
