Season finale tonight!!

Who's going to take it??!!

spoilers -

Fowler survives for 87 days and wins! But for bad tooth, Megan could have gone longer I believe (she was not having food problems like Fowler & Carleigh). Contestants are getting too good.

Still not breaking 3 months.

$500,000, $250,000 roughly after taxes ÷ 90 = $2777/day.

I love my wife & kids. But yeah, see you in 90 days...

This show is incredibly entertaining. And the last 4 people seem to be fascinating people-- highly skilled, intelligent, patient, and strong willed.

Absolutely.

1st winner & runner-up with this season's final 4 would be a really great "alumni" season. Fowler doesn't seen like he will ever do it again.

I don't understand how these people couldn't look at it as a job instead of just survival. The money is more than enough to keep me going strong every day.

Fish like a fool everyday. Forage for the greens. Build & make every day.

Fowler obviously deserves it, but I felt bad for Carleigh getting that far to be pulled off by the docs. Damn that's tough.

I actually felt bad for Carleigh. She was crushed, but she knew her body was in bad shape.

Fantastic season, some of those skilled setups were amazing. The show did a great job with selection. Was really impressed with the three females who made it so far. Still annoyed the hippie chick didnt try to go all the way.

it would really suck to have to be forced to leave medically after 80 days, but if your body is in that bad of shape at that point, then you're not surviving, which is the point of the show.

Glad Fowler won. This season was great tv.

Dave was pretty much unrecognizable in the reunion compared to how he ended the show.

Fowler definitely deserved it, he was really coming up with some great ideas even if they didn't all work, like his duck hunting boat.

well it worked in catching food, just not a duck.

I can't believe none of them killed a pig, especially Dave with his frickin worthless bow and arrow that he did nothing with.

I think carleigh and Dave had a good shot at outlasting fowler if they hadn't been pulled. I think fowler won partly because he was heavy when he started so he could keep his BMI higher for longer.

I just started watching this season. Have any of the past season contestants killed large game? With as many pigs they had on the game cameras I don't know how getting one isn't a main priority. Sure, if you're catching fish then you may not need it, but when the fishing slows down, if you have a bow I don't understand how you don't try every morning and afternoon to get one.

With a decent way to store the meat, one hog would provide 40-50 lbs of meat.

They were pulled b/c they were going to cause irreparable damage or die soon if they didn't get to a hospital. They were literally starving to death. They were failing the part of the competition that asked them to survive, which is the whole point of the show.

maybe so, but he also seemed to do more than anyone else on the show. He had to walk up and down a hillside everyday just to get water.

Forgot who it was but the other larger guy on the show literally did nothing all day every day, b/c his plan was to outlast everyone by burning the least amount of calories each day.

I don't either. Seems like the guy with the bow should have found out where the pigs like to go, even baited it if he could, and went there every morning and afternoon until he shot one. I can understand the other people not killing one, but you brought a bow for a reason. Hunt everyday until you kill something big. smoke and dry out the meat and you just set yourself up for an extra 30-40 days easily.

Not that I recall... plenty of salmon in the previous seasons, but no large game that I recall.

Just make sure you actually eat it though

Has to suck bad to get pulled for starvation when you have a ton of food

Obviously he was not in the right shape mentally at that point.

at that point? he had been hoarding it for quite some time. he had a good plan to last another 30 days once the brunt of winter came about. Problem is he wasn't that healthy going into winter. He made a decision weeks before that he was going to save those fish, and he was still healthy then. He sacrificed his health for a few weeks, so he could have food later. He just didn't realize how bad off he was when they pulled him. That's what his problem was.

Okay, maybe for a lot longer... obviously smoking and stockpiling was a great idea, but he was so intent on strict rationing that he wasn't thinking remotely clearly about his current health situation.

I mean, anyone who gets pulled for basically starving themselves to death while sitting on food reserves isn't thinking straight.
