I'd say it definitely gets better. If you aren't bothered by Vince Vaughns character and a little bit of ridiculousness, then I'd say keep going. There's been quite a few twists and turns.
Just more of a fun show that doesn't take itself too serious with some decent story lines. I'm enjoying it, but I can definitely see it not being for everyone.

Did anything about the Miami police Dept that they have shown us makes you think they want to go after him? It might be a suspension of disbelief that Yancy goes that far but they have Christopher down as an accidental death and seem happy to leave it there. Hell, they wanted Yancy to throw the arm over a bridge and just get rid of it.

His partner says (paraphrasing): “just saw an APB put out in you.” So, the lead decides to go to his new girl’s house and have a rousing good time and great meal with her Spanish family.
Also, they bury an arm of a guy - who they say is dead - but everyone sees him (armless) walking around, talking to people, flying in planes, shooting at others, etc.
The new girlfriend’s sister (an assistant) just happens to take over the weather of the girl who happened to be killed by the armless guy’s wife - like the day before. But let’s celebrate!
Also, the armless guy seemed surprised by how his wife would do that - after he has been killing and trying to kill others himself - mercilessly.
I really want to like it, but it’s beyond stupid.

I wish dragon queen’s flight hadn’t been canceled, so her story would be over. She is awful. The voodoo angle drags the main story down. I have no interest in eve and dragon queen’s reckoning.
It took me a week to push through the prior episode due to the queen. Finally did push through earlier today since a new episode was released last night to get more of her. At least a couple of her scenes had her with Yancy.
Yancy, Rosa, Neville, Eve, and the monkey need to be featured more. I am not sure how Bonnie’s character fits into main story, but she is more interesting to watch than the voodoos.
EDIT: One summary of the book seems to imply that Andros characters didn’t come up until Yancy and Rosa went there. Regardless of the accuracy of that the series should have followed this.

Watched last night. The dragon queen is definitely not my favorite storyline (she's extremely selfish) but she is for sure one of the best actors/actresses on the show. I don't care what happens to her, she deserves some bad voodoo coming her way based on her scams and theft, but I'm not watching her scenes disliking her.
Eve's character is actually pretty funny. Can't stand her because she's just an awful person. But how dumb she is is pretty funny. "shite, you do have a fishing rod stuck in your back" had me laughing pretty good.
The CGI on the plane sitting on the water and taking off during the storm was so bad. It almost looked like a cartoon.
I don't know why Yancy thinks he has to do this on his own. He's a cop, just go to your superiors and get them taken down. They on the run from the law, is it THAT important that he be the one to physically put the cuffs on them. It would be so easy for them to be arrested

I’m really hoping for a season 2 so they don’t have to follow the story of a book. The whole dragon queen story is just eye rolling. Monaghan’s character arc feels extremely unnecessary.
Just give me 8-10 episodes of Vince Vaughn doing Vaughn things with a gun and a badge along with a strong cast. Everything else has been kind of a letdown.
I’ve been pretty down on this show since the episode halfway through the season where they just explain everything to you. No more mysteries. No more theories. I don’t mind the viewer being part of the ride but the story is pretty lackluster and scattered at this point.

I'm not a big fan of the narrator. His dad isn't bad in the show, but it's just too much narration and the stuff that he is telling you is just stating the obvious, not adding anything of benefit.

I am not a fan as well, but it’s not the dad it’s the Captain of the fishing boat from the first episode (or at least the same actor). It makes no sense to me how he would know the things he says. I had mentioned earlier that maybe they answer that at the end, or maybe it’s not meant to be same character. Regardless it’s too much.

Seems like we may get a season 2?
Not exactly how I saw the finale going but somehow one of the stronger episodes in the back half of the season. I’m back to being optimistic for the future again.

I love the recap guy. I never skipped one. Definitely a fan of where the dragon queen story line ended up in the finale.

Yeah I don’t mind the recap guy. I always thought it was the show taking a jab at other shows that do recaps despite seasons being dropped in a single day having them.
