Eh, I enjoyed the several episodes I watched. But be prepared for more dark skin characters.
It's okay.

It will never not be funny when white people have to warn others that there are black people in shows/movies.

The Joker being the notable exception... you need at least one "pure evil" villain.
Hush, Scarecrow, Zsasz, and Professor Pyg are also pure evil with no redeeming qualities either.

Well that sucks. My son really likes the BTAS, Batman Beyond, and The Batman. I was hoping we could watch this series together “live”. Not going to happen now.

It will never not be funny that black people are so insecure that they need to be blackwashed into an established story. So they can feel better.

Pretty sure it was a white person who made the call to race-swap my dude. White people love that shite, makes them less guilty about slavery or some shite.
Also, this isn't on Max? Boo that noise. I guess I'm skipping this one, ain't worth the high seas adventure to watch.

The third episode with Catwoman was the tits. The soundtrack evoked Elfman’s from Batman Returns. This thing is really beautiful to watch.

Not great, not terrible.
It's a visually beautiful mess. Gorgeous art and atmosphere (and a superb orchestral score), but basically another so-called "re-imagining" where writers and producers essentially tell longtime fans "Efff you, this is ours now". Even my wife, who didn't grow up a fan of the character, comics, or earlier animated series, is noticing things ("Why does Arkham look like an art deco luxury hotel? Isn't it supposed to be more like a dungeon?").
The look and atmosphere was used to draw viewers in, then they hit you with the story messes. I'm 6 episodes in, and the only compelling villain so far is their Lon Chaney-esque Clayface, an homage to the original. I'm beginning to see why Max passed on the project, and it had to be picked up by Amazon.

Watched the first episode. Super strong start to the episode, beautiful animation, great fight scene, perfectly dark Batman. Then Penguin shows up in full view and it screeches to a halt. Minnie Driver’s voice doesn’t fit the hulking character that they drew. They’d have been better off drawing her thin or going with a husky voice actress (with a lower, menacing voice). Other than that it would’ve worked. Looking forward to having a well cast villain. The black character updates worked fine. Driver’s voice killed the chances of a female Penguin passing muster.
A FewKilo post. None of this surprises me

frick this show.
Batman is hardly in the damn thing.
Should be titled:
Renee Montoya
Gay Detective
That is the lead in the show, and also her only character trait that is explored to any extent

Couldn’t get through the 2nd episode. Fricking garbage

Bruce calling Alfred “Pennyworth” seemed out of place.
Gender swap on Penguin was a big miss.
I liked the noir throwback elements but the writing still needs work.
I agree with all of this, plus...
Race-swapped Babara and Jim as well.
Harvey comes across as a massive dick.
I made it to the end of the cabaret scene with Pengu-ess and decided I was out.

Race swapping is racist to both races involved.

Since no one is watching this series except for me...
I was expecting to cringe when they went full Harley with that character, as the voice casting and direction in this is hit and miss without Andrea Romano's direction. But they went in the exact opposite direction from Arleen Sorkin on this, which made for a much better experience than having a knock-off performance.
And speaking of voice casting... John DiMaggio does a seamless Bullock. He's spot-on. I couldn't get a feel for what Diedrich Bader was doing with Harvey Dent until I realized he was doing a version of his "Kenny" character from the Baby Blues animated series that was on Adult Swim (now I'm enjoying him for nostalgia reasons).
Hamish Linklater's Batman gets better after the first couple of episodes, though he's still doing a version of Conroy without aping him completely.
And I don't think that Bruce/Batman has referred to Alfred as "Pennyworth" since the first episode. The first episode is standing out more and more as a miss as you go through the season.
