well they handled the jets without much problem
i'm sure they wouldn't have had too many issues with subs, but i could be wrong. why didn't we send subs to shoot missles at them along the various coasts?
why didn't they just land on the coast of tropical islands

IDK about all that now. Our jets did do damage to them. They were able to wallop our jets some because they had a lot of those bad arse little drones rolling around. Also, who is to say that their command center would have been able to operate at sea? Maybe it had to be on land to work. I'm sure that if it was able to work at sea they would have landed/built that sob out in the ocean to prevent us from finding/destroying it.

Who's to say we didn't? You are forgetting that we were shown the story mainly through the eyes of one particular group of marines and were not given the full perspective of what was going down.

Where? They wouldn't have been able to set up ground troops and from what we have seen, they have to have their command center for their drones set up on land. Take away their land and air troops then what defenses do they have to protect their resource raid?

If you were shot by three different Marines all emptying their clips in you they ate going to hit "to the right of the heart" regardless if an autopsy.

los angeles was the only city left on the west coast. if we used subs, we sucked at it

i was hoping for an alien movie where they had the same weaknesses as typical humans. you shoot the shite out of them with a gun, they die. they shoot the shite out of us, we die.
i didn't want the cliche'd secret weakness plot. i was hoping for something original

Exactly. They were'nt here solely for water. They were here for our resources in general. It was simply said that they were using our water as fuel...we have no idea what all they wanted from us, aside from some arse-kicking.

Nah, our jets were having some success until the aliens released those flying drones. Once that happened, they basically shut down the sky (from our vantage point). We could do nothing in the air after that. They handled our aircraft pretty easily actually.
