Centennial - STARZ
Video quality is not great, but I remember why they were so popular. Seems everyone was talking about them the day(s) after they aired.
Looking forward to more. Considering The Thorn Birds next.
Any suggestions?

Another pretty good one was Ellis Island starring Ann Jillian.
Thorn Birds is great, yes.

My favorite is the BBC miniseries version of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy starring Alec Guiness from October '79 (close enough to the 80s and really has an early 80s feel). Wonderful British cast and very well done. The follow up Smiley's People from '82 is not as good but well worth the watch once you finish Tinker. Early role from Patrick Stewart. By the way, Tinker the miniseries is a better and more faithful adaptation than the Gary Oldman movie, which was very good. I also highly recommend starting w/ the book The Spy Who Came in From the Cold and following up w/ book versions of Tinker and Smiley's People for those who love the spy genre in books.
