Lots of nostalgia. Some laughs. Some of the cameos were hysterical.

It definitely felt like a film for 2021 as opposed to 1988. By that I mean the Rated-R edge was softened to be more family friendly and some obligatory sentiments on popular social justice issues thrown in too. No indictment of the film; it’s just the age we live in.

All told; it was a fun trip down memory road with some old friends. Didn’t hate it; didn’t exactly love it either. And I’m okay with that.

This is my hope/expectation as well.

So honestly, how much Leslie Jones is in this? I realize that for me, 5 seconds of LJ is "too much," but that's just me. That being said, is there "too much" Leslie Jones in this?

I didn't find myself aggravated with Leslie Jones, she did her bit parts and then the movie moved on. It was more than a cameo, but it wasn't a ton either.

It’s pretty sad, liked Snipes though. Just missed the original cast, needed more McDowel, more Barbershop. The Lavell character just fell flat to me, and they highlighted him too much, just wanted more Semi/Akim, but I guess you just aren’t going to get a better sequel, but this one had a few decent moments

Oh, and Lisa McDowell ( Queen)aged very well..

how many of these people made deals with the devil to barely age over 30 years? Eddie, Arsenio, and Shari Headley still look great.

I have watched just over half of it. Don't know that I will finish it. Just not good and not funny at all. I was optimistic going in. The guy who plays the bastard son is awful. Leslie Jones I just don't get. Who in the world thinks she is good at anything?

I know you cant comprehend this because you keep posting, but people are tired of your schtick. You dont even watch the films before you jump on here posting far leftist proclamations about them

Its OK for people that have actually watched a film, to post a reason as to why they didnt enjoy it

Leave your leftist sensibilities on the keyboard

I don’t know the exact times, but it felt like more than Ghostbusters. Also his bastard son felt like he’s trying to act the entire time. Very school play level performance.

The son was shite, his entire family made the movie worse. None of them were funny. The daughters sucked too. They tried to do the girl power thing with them, but they just felt more like props to say oh look women are strong.

It’s meh. Like biting into a malted milk ball just to find it hollow. Characters are likable enough, just predictable with very little conflict.,

All the call back characters to the original were pretty funny.

The story and updated stuff were all pretty bland.

It was horrendous. I smiled one time when they went into My-T- Sharp but that was just nostalgia. The new characters were not funny. Avoid it.

Just finished it...

Pros:
- flashbacks
- Mr. McDowell
- Lisa
- nostalgia

Cons:
- a lot of forced jokes
- fairly predictable
- the actor playing the son
- the actress playing the daughter

Leslie Jones wasn't a huge deal in the movie, hell I found Tracy Morgans character worse than Leslie Jones.

Great take. I agree.

****SPOILER****

I kept waiting for a cut-away to Darryl and Petrice being miserable with Mr. and Ms. Jenks.
