The last season of Breaking Bad was the best season of any series I've ever seen before

I saw the outrage on here last night about the season sucking, but I watched the episode this morning and didn't think it was that bad. There are some stretches being taken that haven't been before, but I also think that is due to Dexter's inner development, and him being more in touch with reality.

The preview for the finale looks awesome. Hopefully they wrap it up the way they usually do. Honestly though, I really hope they find a way to save Harrison. That would be effed up to kill a kid.

The only way I will be happy is if Dexter somehow gets called on his carelessness. Otherwise the writing is just laughable.

I do hope that Harrison makes it through though. I'm like you that will be fricked if he doesnt

I for one am assuming Dexter's video message to Travis self-destructed like in the old M.I. series. They didn't show it, but it had to, right?

And I guess neither Quinn nor Deb ever found Liddy's pictures of Dexter and Lumen Bay-Harbor-Butchering that were left in Quinn's nightstand, that Dexter told Lumen to put back lest they be missed. I figure preventing that is really why they broke up after a year, and why Quinn has turned into a miserable drunk who wakes up in his car and other places he passes out. He's never home anymore to discover them.

So you see, it really is a tightly plotted, carefully constructed show.

While I agree with the amounts of carelessness being shown this season. I think the only reason of logic the writers have for being some careless is: we have seen season after season of Dexter going back to clean up after himself. Unless they make a point to explicitly show something (ie. the 4-5 second conversation about the pen from the motel) it will be just "assumed" he is took care of cleaning it up.

That's my only logical conclusion.

Still...the 911 call drives me nuts.

I would give Breaking Bad a perfect 100% rating.. and season 4 of Dexter a 95.5%

Also, they are made it way too obvious all season that Dexter keep blowing off Louis. But I still really don't get his angle. Something tells me that the actions taken by Louis will be the cliffhanger going into next season.

I expect Louis to be next season's main story line that Dexter chases. I think he is too old to be the son of Brian Moser, but I wouldn't be surprised if he is somehow related to one of Dexter's victims.

this. I started laughing when Dexter sent him the video message. Either the writers are intentionally trying to frick with us OR this is their way of showing that Dexter is trying to get caught.

***POTENTIAL SPOLIER IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE ORIGINAL DEXTER SOURCE MATERIAL***

Though the show has deviated a huge amount from the original book, one thing I did like about the book was that at the end Debra found out what Dex was. And she ended up being ok with it.

Think back to the end of last season where she ALMOST caught his arse...and her turmoil over what to do with Matthews this year...and her clear dependence on all things Dexter. What if she ended up finding out...finding it all out with Dex telling her how it got started and the Code, etc?

Could be setting us up for that...

I think by showing that she was willing to keep quiet about Mathews the writers are opening her up to the idea of looking the other way. This can grow into her accepting Dexter for who he is.

Right. And that's just an old family friend.

Dex is EVERYTHING to her. She'd be disillusioned and hurt, but she'd suddenly get why her Dad spent so much time with Dex.

I'm not suggesting they really are going to go this route, because it was far easier to get there by the end of the first book than by the end of season 6 of the series, but still...could be a way to go.

How about if he goes to stay with Rita's mother? Let's not kill the kid.

Once Deb became Lietenant I started to wonder if she ever found out about Dexter would she be pissed because of him interfering with her closing rate?

I don't mind Harrison, but it does seem like he kind of holds Dexter back a tad bit. He's always having to ensure he has the sitter to watch after him and things like that. I too wouldn't mind if he would just go away somewhere.

Speaking of which, where the hell are Dexter's step children? They went to stay with Rita's parents right? So are we ever supposed to hear from them again or did people just NGAS about them so the writers banished them away?

Nearly all of Dexter's victims won't be on an "unsolved murders" list. They're just gone, and not even on a "missing person" list. Heck, as far as Miami Metro Homicide is concerned, even Trinity is still alive.
