F4 had potential because the villains in their universe are pretty interesting. But with the focus on the F4 and the terrible casting and script, it flopped hard.
I was talking with a coworker of mine who's pretty big into comics and well more versed than I am and he believes Green Arrow should be the next to be given a chance on the screen.
I think this is a huge gamble because he's a lot like Batman in that he doesn't have any powers of his own, just gadgets. We've also seen a lot of "Green" superhero movies out in the last few years (Green Lantern, Green Hornet...) And most people just don't know Green Arrow, so they'd have to market it like mad to get anyone other than your average fanboy to go see it.

None of the Fantastic Four characters have a remotely interesting back story like any of those listed above, and therefore no one really has or will become interested or invested into the story / movie.
i disagree. FF4 was MONEY from issues 100-210 or so. they have so much to work with; inhumans in particular; negative zone, skrulls, agatha and the salem 7, the impossible man, anninihulus, a better galactus, high evolutionary, frightful four..
i don't expect most of you to remember this; these issues ran in the late 1970s and certainly never achieved the type of popularity as other comic heroes, but the writing and stories were very solid and could provide a wealth of material if done right.
"if done right"
my inner horny 13 year old self just called and wants its comic book back
oh and lockjaw rocks!

quote:Pretty sure Sony either keeps making movies or gives up the rights. Problem is, all it takes is one shitty movie to require a reboot.
Sorry, I can't look it up right now, but does anyone know if the contracts are slated to end at some point? Or is it perpetual as long as the character is used every X years?
If perpetual, :wowgif
