How exactly is she a national joke?

It would have been miraculous for any Republican victory given the failing economy, the war in Irag and a general malaise which often strikes after 8 years of one party (see Al Gore).

They still got 59,000,000 votes. I think 59,000,000 would disagree that she is a national joke. You may not like her, but to claim she is a national joke shows how little you comprehend events.

The amount of hatred you people on the left have for Palin is just inexplicable.

Do people talk about McCain in this fashion? No.

Does the media attack McCain with such vehemence? No.

Do they have almost identical beliefs? Yes.

You can argue she was not ready, but to level the hated at her that most of you bozos aim at her shows your true misogyny.

"How exactly is she a national joke?"

This might be oversimplifying it, but she's a nerd who preaches abstinence and her daughter got knocked up at 17.

I'm not saying that Hilary Clinton's not a joke, either, but Sarah Palin, bless her sexy little heart, is easy to not take seriously.

That statement is the actual epitome of misogyny.

By the way, a sinner can still preach. We all sin. Christianity is about redemption and forgiveness. It is not wrong for a person who has failed, to preach the lessons learned.

Some of the best addiction counselors are people that are in recovery themselves.

Please don't stray from the topic and bring religion into the discussion. Of course, we're all able to learn from mistakes, that's not the point. Palin is a joke, for her head in the sand approach to preventing teen pregnancy. Why would I listen to a mother preach about a subject that she is so clearly wrong about?

It's kind of like if Hilary Clinton wrote a book called "How to Keep Your Man in Check."

"Some of the best addiction counselors are people that are in recovery themselves."

True. But they are CURRENTLY going through the process or HAVE gone through the process. Palin preached abstinence before her daughter was knocked up and still preaches abstinence today. It doesn't sound to me like she learned from her mistakes, the same way an addict does.

Parents preach to their kids not to use drugs but many still do use drugs. Does that mean the message should not be taught?

Are all kids going to be abstinent? No, but that doesn't mean a parent can't teach their child abstinence.

I didn't stray from the topic at all. I was just pointing out that failure does not mean one has to quit preaching what a person believes. We all fail.

Call her a joke all you want. I call her a strong woman that sticks to her convictions. 59,000,000 people seemed to think that she was worthy of a vote.

By the way, I don't believe in teaching just abstinence, but I respect her right to teach her kids abstinence. I don't find her a joke because I differ in views.

And as usual, liberals can't just say they don't like a specific policy, you people have this need to insult and attack.

A person can say you don't believe her message without having to resort to calling her stupid, slutty and a joke.

Maybe I'm just better able to debate without resorting to the lowest common attacks.

Whoa! Hold up a sec, buddy. I called Hilary Clinton a joke in this thread too. How am I a liberal? Before you answer that, factor in that I painted over a 1000 signs for George H. Bush in '92 for the RNC.

Who called her slutty?

"Maybe I'm just better able to debate without resorting to the lowest common attacks."

Like how you just completely labeled and stereotyped me in your last post?

I've yet to hear one good argument on why Sara Palin is a joke.

My post was a composite. Not just a response to your statements, but a response to the thread.

The slutty part was from Letterman, the joke part was you.

I was not necessarily responding just to your points.

I am sorry If you felt I was attacking you. Which I was a little.

But I also was addressing other comments in the thread and was too lazy to quote.

Because she has differing opinions which makes her a stupid slutty joke that needs to stay in the kitchen where she belongs. Or so many Libs on the poliboard seem to think

No big deal. Let's both go enjoy the rest of our weekends. My wife is 38 weeks pregnant and having a procedure tomorrow morning to get the baby out of the breach position.

I might become a father within the next 24 hours, so if my crabbiness was apparent in this thread I apologize.

I'm always up for healthy debate.

This is so stupid. Bristol Palin is an adult that does interviews with national magazines. You put yourself in the national spotlight (particularly when you are famous for getting knocked up out of wedlock while in high school), people are going to make fricking jokes about you.

Some of you need to go to Walgreens and get some Monistat.

Nice Afreux. I see you never change your modus operandi of insulting people with differing opinions.

Stay classy there chief.

It has nothing to do with political beliefs or gender. The truth of the matter is that since the moment she came on the national stage, she hasn't been able to speak in proper sentences or with complete thoughts. Even in friendly interviews she just comes across as outright dumb. That's why she's a national joke.

The left thinks its the cool thing to do to make fun of Sarah Palin and not take her seriously. The media is behind all of this and its ridiclious that the media can make everyone hate this women for no reason

Other than the Couric interview She had zero problem with her speaking engagements.

Once again, you make statements with zero facts.

Her acceptance speech at the convention was fantastic. The pundits on CNN were speechless when she was done. They were shocked at how well she gave the speech although of course they did not like the message.

She may not have won the debates with Biden, but he also did not clean her clock which anyone would have expected with his 100 years of experience.

Once again, you libs never speak facts only insults. You are supposed to be the enlightened ones yet all you seem capable of is childish name calling instead of rational debate.
