Watched the x-files premiere last night and remember why I loved the series so much. To those complaining about Ducovney's acting, he's always been dry, but witty. It's one of the things I love about the show.
I thought the conspiracy guy could have been played by a different actor though. He was way too cheesy and cliche.
I wonder how old Mulder and Skully's child is, and if they will work the child into the series? I also wonder if Mulder will ever find out any definitive info about his sister?

I am a huge X-Files fan and was anxiously awaiting this, but trying to keep realistic expectations b/c honestly the show hasn't been great since about season 6 (later seasons and second movie were not great).

I thought the premiere was okay. I didn't really follow how Mulder became so convinced "it was all lies", but it was great seeing him and Scully on screen (and of course Skinner and CSM as well). I think this first episode was mostly about establishing a status quo, re-opening the X-Files, and getting a new mythology to address in future episodes.

I'm hoping that the next five episodes will be a combination of mythology and some stand-alone episodes. When I was a kid watching the first time I liked the mythology episodes the most, but when I re-watch I usually go with Monster of the Week eps.

I'm seriously not being a smartass, but it would take too long. Wiki it. He's a central character in the government conspiracy.

This entire thing is some radical left wing propaganda video. Did that fat shite Michael Moore write this?

What are you talking about? That was all RIGHT WING conspiracy stuff. The TV show host is 100% Alex Jones. I live in Austin, where Alex lives, and listen to his show over the air on a pirate radio station broadcast from the back yard of an octogenarian retired County Sheriff who refuses to pay the FCC fines. Not left-wing.

Re: Mulder and Scully having a kid.

Admittedly, before last night I hadn't watched the X-Files in several years, but used to watch religiously when it aired. When did the Mulder and Scully having a kid story line happen - in the show or in the movies? I had no recollection of that when they mentioned it in the premiere...

I lived in Austin around 95/96 when Alex Jones videos were shown on the public access channel late night. It's fairly scary that he has a national following today.

But it's a huge stretch to call him "right wing." Paranoid types are a category all their own.

As someone else said, it is pretty complicated, but basically **SPOILERS ON A 20 YEAR OLD SHOW** he is the main bad guy in the series. He is a high ranking official who has been behind shadowy stuff for years, including the JFK and MLK assassinations and various conspiracies and cover-ups. He and Mulder's Dad worked together and it is heavily implied that he may be Mulder's biological father b/c he and Mulder's Mom had an affair. In the series finale he was in a cave that got blown up by a missile and he was presumed dead.

It was on the show in the later seasons, either 8 or 9. His name is/was William and the storyline was featured on several episodes. I haven't seen those eps in a long time, but I think they gave him up for adoption to keep him safe.

Thanks. I just wiki it and read all about it.

Another question about the original series. It looks like the re-colonization was scheduled for Dec 2012? What happen to that? Why didn't it happen?

Yes. With a man reading the screenplay in the background. Must be a messed up feed.

I think that had not been fully explained until last night's episode when they said that maybe that part of the conspiracy was just a smokescreen.

Anyone else remember anything more about it?

Apparently the alien colonization plan was a ruse to keep Mulder off of the real plot that was government based.
