I'll be watching but this show is really not funny anymore. Not that it was ever super funny or anything to begin with, but it has gone from mediocre to below average this season.

What is the purpose of this? Was there a scheduling conflict and they used this to keep him on the show?

Agreed. I don't know if it was crappy, but it was just a regular episode...nothing special.
I'm glad they had Barney actually be pissed about Ted and Robin though, because last week I said that they keep creating drama that we know is gonna work out (quickly), so when the show opened last night with Barney being like "Cool, whatever," it took away from the sort of cliffhanger last week. So I was glad that he was actually upset about that and they had to work it out.
And I don't like the Marshall road trip at all, but it was pretty funny last night with him on the iPad.
Lily is almost unbearable, and am I just now realizing how much of a bitch Robin is..??

He didn't want to do the season at all IIRC. It probably is for scheduling. Do they normally shoot the show in New York? If so he's probably doing his bit in LA while he works on movies.

Wasnt really of fan of this episode and normally Im pretty easy to please when it comes to movies/tv. Lily and Robin's whole bit was based on the idea that her and Marshall are going to Rome so it was pointless.

I caught up the last two weeks even though theres not much going on in those weeks 
The writers have thrown so much pointless bullshite on the wall that i forgot the whole Ted is moving to Chicago thing. Theyre trying to make it some big plot point but we know its not going to happen
And whats with Chicago? Seems like each character has had some reason to possibly move and its always to Chicago. Is that just like the logical next step for New yorkers or something?
Ha to go through yet another "oh ted has feeling for robin" garbage. We get it. And Barney got over that way too easily. But then again hes marrying the wrong girl so who cares
I like the straight humor though. With Marshall doing WAB it was hilarious, and the sword fighting and the Barney anal jokes
Also Lily is an underrated "Worst TV character as a person" candiate. She is a terrible friend and a worst wife.

anyone else watch tonight? it was OK. had a few good funny parts. but the plot went nowhere.
