The egg metaphor was heavy-handed and stupid in House of Cards but Lost is the wrong show to use as a club to beat other shows with as far as I'm concerned.

The show was ballsy and creative as hell. LOST never pussed out. If the writers/producers were as ballsy as the LOST writers and producers, then Season 3 would have been the final season. Both are very finite shows that needed to have a beginning, middle, and end. The LOST producers were insistent on the show having an established end date, while I haven't heard a peep from the House of Cards producers about this. Good shows have producers and writers that speak out long before the show ends on when it should end.
And I will say that Claire being Ambassador to the UN is more unbelievable than anything they pulled in LOST, which is really saying something.

I thought season 3 was a big drop off, but I'm not gonna say that it was the worst season ever and ruined the show like some people will.
Biggest problem with Claire's character is that Both of them worked so hard to follow the plan with full knowledge of what would happen when the plan was fulfilled.
Plan is fulfilled and Claire isn't happy with the result. Like, I don't understand how she was unhappy with her position. She had wayyyyy more power than she ever had before, yet she acted like she was being marginalized. Just didn't make any sense. It'd be one thing if once Frank became president that he put her in a box and cut off her influence, but that didn't happen. He went above and beyond to give her more influence than she ever had. Didn't make sense for an intelligent, power driven person like Claire to be unable to realize the amount of power and influence she had.
Also doesn't make sense that she bailed when she did. Even if she perceived that she didn't have as much influence as she wanted, she jumped ship less than a year in. You've waited and worked decades towards a goal, and because everything isn't all perfect from the jump you bail? Makes no sense.

One of the best episodes, actually.
I swear people say this so they can feel like the smartest person in the room.
It was a bottle episode made to save money for other, far better episodes. If it never aired, it wouldn't affect anybody's opinion of the show at all.

First two seasons are amazing television, it's ending won't be able to take that away. I will be able to rewatch those 26 episodes over and over again
