i liked all 3. i am still waiting for the instant pizza from part 2 and the hover board. i guess we havent progressed quite as far as everyone thought we would.

I've always loved 3, but it really hit me the other day whilst watching on HBO how horrible the ending really is. Like how fricking dumb was it for Doc to land on the train tracks in 1985? The train clearly had flying capabilities, and they proved w/ the Delorean that you could jump from the air in one time to the air in another time. So Doc risked hitting Marty, Jen, any innocent car passing, and for all he knew the Delorean was still on the tracks. Dumb.

Part III is basically unnecessary. The same Doc that sees his grave in 1955 is the same Doc that gets accidentally sent back to 1885. So Doc knows he's gonna get shot by Mad Dog and he knows when, the whole point of Marty going back in time to warn him is pointless.
Couldn't be more wrong.

Best part of Part 3 is Doc's kid doing that thing with his hand while Doc is talking to Marty at the end of the movie.

I think the two of you who say he is wrong don't understand what his original point was.
In 1955, 1985 Doc Brown while flying in the Delorean was struck by lightning and sent to 1885. At that moment Western Union delivers the info to Marty, who runs to town square to meet original 1955 Doc.
1955 Doc helps Marty out, and sends Marty back in time to warn 1985 Doc. Now if Marty just went back to 1985. 1955 Doc would have become 1985 Doc, so when he went back to 1885 he would have had all the knowledge that 1955 Doc had, because he was he.
He is right, it is a paradox. Sure Doc would have died in 1885, in one reality, same way how in another he was in a mental institution, yet the Delorean still existed.
His point is valid and the two people who said he was wrong, need to re-think it.

It is probably better they did not keep crossing paths with themselves while traveling through time. instead he went to meet a Doc that did not have to go through the whole process of the second movie again.
Now this is different from the movie frequency where he kept gaining new memories everytime something changed.

Bona fide plot hole.
How on earth is that a plot hole? The Indians do not have any impact on the plot (other than shooting the car). They will not appear in another scene and are not in any way essential to the plot.
So a car appears amongst the Indians. So what? They shoot the car and keep riding. That's a perfectly rational action and does not merit scrutiny anyway as its not even a minor plot point.
Oh, and I'm a huge fan of the second one, as they try and have the entire climax happening in the background of the first film. Pretty creative.

well in Back to the Future 2, Doc explains that if you travel through time you can effect others but the time travel doesn't change the traverlers.
So Marty had no idea he was supposed to be off in Europe at boarding school and that his step dad was Biff. Doc was supposed to be in the mental institution..
In the deleted scenes they show Biff die in part two, but in part one he just looks hurt. Which is strange but its probably due to some changes he made causing him to not live as long.
With time travel movies you have to suspend belief. I like the episode of South Park "GooBacks" when the newscaster says "The travelers are using the one-way Terminator style of time travel, and not the Back to the Future style which would allow for travel back and forth".

It's nto that I care, just that two peope called a correct theory wrong, and they were in fact wrong.
Marty didn't need to go back to 1885 to save Doc, 1955 Doc would have already known what to do, having already built the time machine thirty years earlier than normally. In fact its safe to theorize that he may be able to make a time machine in the 1960's as he was given Schematics to the Flux capacitor and information of how to use 1955 components.

I always thought he was saying "bojo", as in the future a derogatory term shortening the word "blowjob".

I love the second one. How somebody can think that is one of the worst sequels to a great movie ever blows my mind. Who cares if it has some plot holes, it's friggin fun. I loved how they did the future.

Why does everybody try and make a science equation out of these movies? Every single bttf thread turns in to this. Who cares if it has some plot holes. It's not transformer two plot holes. Making three movies of intersecting time travel will have some gaps. They are fun sci fi/adventure movies. I don't need to read a chart to know that.
