The matrix was supposed to have Will Smith as Neo, and Val Kilmer as Morpheus

The Man Who Would Be King - Humphrey Bogart, Errol Flynn (Huston had wanted to make it since the '50s)

That would have been a good version. But the Connery/Caine one is tough to beat.

Nicholson may have been considered, but I don't think he was offered the role.

The only actor I know of that was officially offered the role was Warren Beatty. Redford was the preference of the studio owner, but I don't think he got an official offer.

That same studio owner thought Charles Bronson would be good in The Godfather.

Not as Vito -- Michael.

Yeah Jim Halpert was a finalist for Cap, glad he didn’t get the role though.

Emily Blunt was suppose to appear as Captain Marvel in Age of Ultron but Fiege told Whedon he had more plans for the character than a cheap cameo at the end of the movie.

That moment at the end where Cap says Avengers... was suppose to be the Avengers Assemble moment but again Fiege told Whedon no. Whedon didn’t take kindly to that and pissed off. He took the Justice League reshoots to piss off Fiege.

Joe Pesci as Marvin (? Sinbad’s character in) in Jingle all the Way.

That’s pretty interesting...sinbad was one of the best parts of that movie though. It was goofy as shite

The one I really would have lived to see was WC Fields as the Wizard of Oz.

Warren Beatty and Robert Redford were both offered the role of Michael Corleone before Coppola threatened to quit if Pacino didn't get the role. Dustin Hoffman is who Paramount wanted for the role.

Ernest Borgnine was supposed to get Vito but when he turned it down they turned to Lawrence Olivier. Brando finally won the role when he put paper in his cheeks for his audition and promised not to be a prima donna on set. It was the first time he had had to audition for a role in ten years. He really wanted the role badly.

Paul Newman and Steve McQueen both were offered Tom Hagen before Duvall got it.

Mia Farrow was offered Kaye before Diane Keaton got the role.

Anthony Perkins was originally pegged for Sonny but when the Michael role went to Pacino they moved James Caan over to the Sonny role.

DeNiro auditioned for both the Carlo and Paulie roles but he eventually got the young Vito role in Pt II of course.

Before that, the story goes that Blunt was supposed to be Black Widow in IM2.
