The Judge from Blood Meridian

This is definitely the correct answer. He bought puppies from a kid just to drown them in front of him and also molested and murdered children and infants. Pretty hard to beat him.

But Joffrey has nothing going for him. He's a bully, a coward, a punk, a psychopath, stupid, and just all around evil. Its as if you took all the worst qualities of Draco Malfoy and Amon Goeth, and multiplied it by infinity.

Joffrey is definitely a little bitch like Draco was...except Draco 'shows' that he's a little good in DH Part II, especially after Harry and co. rescued them from the Room of Requirement; you could tell he was scared of Voldemort and didn't like doing his bidding much in DH II and just wanted to be with his parents.

Joffrey annoys the crap out of me and I don't understand why no one will kill him... He's such a prat and if it weren't for his family connections and military he wouldn't be anything. He really is an evil sadist. It's sickening.

Does he get killed in the books?

Being so powerful I wonder why his grandpa didn't become king? What happened to all the money the Targarans had when they were forced out?

Book Joff and show Joff are a little bit different.

He has his mean streaks in the book but most of the time, I just got the impression that he was an angry, whiny baby. Everyone pretty much considers him a running joke and doesnt really take him seriously.

The show has portrayed him much worse than he actually is imo. Like the hooker scene was never in the books.

Their are much worse characters coming.

Hence "taking the worst qualities of". Draco is not a killer and he does not enjoy death and torture, but there is some initial similarities between them before you find out about the true monster that lies beneath Joffrey's psyche, which is why I said multiply it by infiinity.

Because Voldemort wasn't that horrible, especially anywhere near the league of Joffrey. Yeah he murdered people and tortured some people for seconds at a time.... but thats really it, and his torturing was merely to humiliate or extort information from someone before he killed them outright. All Voldemort offered people was instant death, not nearly as bad as pretty much everything Joffrey, or numerous other villains have. Honestly Bellatrix and Umbridge are much worse in the novels than Voldemort himself is. Voldemort is powerful, but usually just goes for quick effective means to kill his targets. Umbridge and Bellatrix though take sheer and utter joy of fricking with their victims for as long and as cruelly as possible.

The thing is, Joffrey isn't that horrible in the books. He's bad, definitely. But sometimes I wonder if even book Joffrey wouldn't tell HBO Joffrey to settle the frick down.

He's definitely not as sadistic. Book Joffery is more pathetic than anything. He is constantly overcompensating for his lack of respect and ends up looking foolish.

Ned Stark's death is the prime example and they touched on that on the show a little bit. Had Ned Stark just been banished to the wall, there would either not have been a war or the war would have been to a much lesser degree. Even Cersi realized this and tried to get Joffery to spare him.

But Joffery, trying to "show" everyone that he was a fierce king, defies his advisers and orders Ned executed which starts an enormous civil war.

Granted I've only read the first book, but doesn't he regularly aim his crossbow down upon his citizens Amon Goeth style?

The Mountain killed Rhaegar Targaryen's kids and then raped his wife with their blood and brains on his hand.

He does. But he falls more on the pathetic, rather than sadistic, side of the line. The presentation is very different.

.....Jesus. I hope Arya's prayer comes true and she kills this mother fricker. I am curious how Tywin will treat her though. I could see him treating her surprisingly well compared to how others would.
