On Tywin Lannister's orders bro

Tywin is just as evil

Eh, he didn't order that, he just ordered them killed. Tywin is a bastard for sure, but not on Joffery or the Mountain's level. With the exception of his treatment of Tyrion, any cruelty or dastardly deeds Tywin does is for a purpose.

That's what I meant. Ordering the death of children is pretty evil. Joffery gets it honest is what I was implying. I should've clarified.

Well, Joffrey orders the deaths of dozens of kids instead of two though.

Being so powerful I wonder why his grandpa didn't become king? What happened to all the money the Targarans had when they were forced out?

Ned Stark got there first, Jaimie Lanister was sitting in the Iron throne when Stark got there and claimed the Iron throne for Robert Bartheon.

Tywin had no choice there. House Lannister was one of the Targs most loyal houses for a long long time, and Tywin had been the freaking hand of the king. Tywin had to show beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was supporting Robert's side, or Ned and Robert could have easily killed him next. It's definitely a bad act, but he had his reasons and a purpose. I dislike Tywin a great deal, but wanton cruelty is not his thing.

I think sacking KL's would have sufficed. The kids should have been shipped to Dorne or to Dragonstone with Viserys and Daenerys.

Robert was sending assassins after Dany in the first book, no way he would have been able to have all those claims to the throne hanging around over his head. Half the realm had supported the Targs, as soon as something bad happened he'd have had civil wars popping up supporting the kids.

book spoilers.......

And in the books Tywin clearly didn't think simply sacking king landing would have sufficed, as he explains to Tyrion. He looks at Tyrion like he was a moron when he suggests they didn't need to have killed the kids. Tywin didn't want Rhaegar's wife killed however, that was all the Mountain.

Even "Good King" Robert is constantly trying to locate and Kill the rest of the Targaryens in season one. Remember Ned talks him out of it. He had spies and assassins all over Essos. So the death of the entire House Targaryen was the plan of the Bartheon rebellion. I'm sure he was glad Tywin did what he did due to Rhaegar's popularity.
Tywin though famously destroyed two other houses as detailed in the song "The Rains of Castemere".

Yeah, I can't stand Tywin as much because of how big of a douche he is towards Tyrion as much as any thing else.

I'm not saying it's what Robert should have done. It's what Tywin should have done very subtly. Or hell, even Jaime. Robert loved killing Targaryens because Rhaegar took away Lyanna Stark from him.

If there was even a hint that Tywin had helped Targ children escape Robert would have killed his arse, Robert can barely stomach Lannisters even after he is married to one.

Honestly Bellatrix and Umbridge are much worse in the novels than Voldemort himself is. Voldemort is powerful, but usually just goes for quick effective means to kill his targets. Umbridge and Bellatrix though take sheer and utter joy of fricking with their victims for as long and as cruelly as possible.

Agreed. Umbridge was really an evil sadistic bitch despite her Pepto Bismol wardrobe and cats in her office .

Bellatrix was really crazy...Helena Bonham Carter was a perfect fit for that role.

And Cersei is responsible for never disciplining her son/never telling him 'NO'. She's an enabler and is a twisted woman herself. She loves attention/power and is a weak woman.

One of my favorite lines is when Tywin brought the mutilated bodies of Rhaegar's wife and the children before Robert, he said

"I see no babies, only dragonspawn"

Damn I can't wait until we find out what really happened at summerhall
