Just watched on Max. I really liked the premise but holy.......
At some point I realized this was a comedy?

That was one goofy fricking movie. I liked it but it was strange...not your typical M Night movie.
Also, think it was his way of trying to highlight how his daughter is a singer and wants to be a Taylor Swift.

I just kept waiting for the twist.

If you watch it as a satire, it's highly entertaining.

There was one small twist towards the end.

The sole purpose of this movie was to get his daughters acting and pop singing career to take off.

I've heard so many damn people talk about it, I'm gonna have to check it out.

If laughingly bad is your definition of a comedy then YES.

I think the term for it is campy maybe? I didn't care for it after it was really his daughter showcasing her signing most the movie

My brother watched it last week and was telling me about it and I was in tears laughing just listening to him talk about it. I don't think you could pay me to watch that movie.

Harnett is great but man he talks to the daughter like she's special needs.
and he abandons her like 12 times throughout the concert.

If it's ever confirmed to be in the Unbreakable universe thrn I think it instantly makes it better. Still not good, but better. The departure from the way it was promoted and the actual tone of the movie was jarring for me. It absolutely fits right in with Unbreakable, so I see no downside. The movie failed on its own, so why not?

I was shocked he put his name on such a bad movie with so many holes.

Well he's a psychopathic, genius serial killer with a superiority complex.

Can’t tell if you’re joking. This was bad, but far from his worst.

Spoilers**
I definitely laughed when the daughter’s friend threw her drink on her mom and freaked out when Hartnet’s daughter was on stage with the singer haha. Idk I thought it was entertaining but wouldn’t ever rewatch it or anything. I guess the intrigue for me was to see how or if he would be able to escape the venue but after that it could’ve fell apart. I guess the semi twist was his wife was onto his shite was interesting.

It wasn’t very good and was definitely silly throughout. But weirdly, I actually liked it a good bit.
The main issue I had with it was after they left the concert. WAAAY too much shite after they left, and ridiculous decisions all around. Had they kept it at the venue and made the escape the main focus, with just a little fluff afterwards, it would’ve been much better.
