AD is a great show, but c'mon man, wipe the spermatozoan off your lips and get real.

Truth be told, I'm watching AD for a second go round, and I really don't know if i've laughed yet. If it is the 'funniest' show, it certainly isn't the best by a landslide.

yeah, I recently finished AD, and now that I've seen episodes replayed again they're not as funny as IASIP is on repeated viewings.

Sunny is sort of similar, though.

I only laugh my arse off the first viewing, the second time i basically chuckle my way through it.

The thing i will give to AD is that, conceptually, it is very well thought out. Better than any other comedy, no doubt. Sort of like LOST in the way they incorporate stuff from past episodes and from within episodes.

Truth is, had the show not been so overhyped, i probably would have fallen in love it. My expectations were just too high.

I'm the exact opposite. I am watching AD the second time through, and I like it even more this time around.

With Sunny, I can give a few of the best episodes multiple viewings and still find them hilarious, whereas there are others where I have to turn it off halfway through because I don't find it funny at all.

I think this is the key to me: I think basically every single one of the characters on AD is very funny, with some hilarious (Tobias, Buster, GOB). On Sunny, Charlie is hysterical, with Dennis and Mac as solid compliments, and Sweet Dee is either on or terrible. Plus, sometimes with Sunny, it seems like they are all trying to top each other, which gets a little annoying.

That said, they are both funny arse shows, and for different reasons. I give the nod to AD in terms of consistently making me laugh and quality of characters, but Sunny gets the hardest laughs, but the biggest misses.

I find that AD is the best comedy ever in terms of rewatchability. I've found new things on like my fifth viewings of episodes.

Seinfeld is the "funniest". AD is just better than Sunny.

Sunny doesn't take itself seriously, nor should it. The character INTERACTION in Sunny is better than AD IMO, but the characters themselves may not be.

AD, to me, can come off as really pretentious. Funny and at times brilliant, but often pretentious.

For AD to be considered fantastic, it almost has to be viewed in retrospect, which in my opinion is why is was never a major hit while it was aired. It was almost taken too seriously by everyone involves (which makes sense quite frankly because most of the people involves in the show are smug douches--funny smug douches--kind of like the ones that have run SNL into the ground.

But all are great shows. If i had to rank them, it'd be tough to do, but based on enjoyability and longevity i would have to put the Office on top of both by a hair.

I have no problem with that. It is very close. Personally, I think Seinfeld and AD are easily the two funniest comedies ever.

I'm a big fan of Sunny, but I don't think it is as good as either AD or Seinfeld.

I like AD, but rewatchability to me is not even remotely close to Seinfeld.

fair enough

Great shows, no doubt. I'm just a little sick of Jerry Seinfeld. Thank God he isn't what makes the show.

They aren't alike? I don't think they can be compared.

Seinfeld=Greatest Ever (Agree)

Sunny=Best Today (Debatable)

Sunny=Great (Yes)
