Cyborg not immediately going after the mother box when it flew out of the chamber after Superman woke up stood out to me. His dad just told him how important it was and now he forgets about it?

Yeah, forgot about that one, but that did stand out to me in the theater.

I’ll simply say that I think it has become the in thing to hate on Snyder. I highly enjoyed the movie. The CGI wasn’t perfect, but dear lord, it wasn’t as bad as it is being blasted.

Worth the price of admission, enjoyable from start to finish.

A guy who only knows how to make shitty disaster porn being in charge of character and story driven movies is the biggest mismatch ever.

See, I want to agree with this, because by and large I believe that every disaster scene, car chase, gun fight in most movies is filler when a story line has too little development to fill the movie appropriately. However, you can’t have a superhero movie without fighting and destruction - the characters are too big and the world almost too small to contain the threats that have to existentially exist for there to feel like a true sense of danger.

You can call it disaster porn, but when you’re basically saying gods are battling to death, is there a such thing as unthinkable destruction?

It may not be a popular opinion, and that’s fine. I like shitty disaster porn then. But there was good character development and chemistry built between characters in this movie for me to say it was worth my time and my money.

They burn up whenever he runs, he just heals that quickly.

I forgot my glasses and everything was a bit blurry, so I didn't really notice bad CGI. Plus I had been drinking.

Exactly. The amount of whining on this board for MOS was amusing.

The only thing close to disaster porn Snyder has ever made was MOS.

Man of Steel is one of the most disconnected films ever made. Nothing taken into account than what was directly shown on screen.

Like in the bank scene with Wonder Woman, she might as well have leapt out of the bullets way and let the civilians take it while she eventually took out the bad guy.

Snyder goes overboard, yes, but complaining about the destruction is absurd. Is it really a stretch to say there would be major destruction if god like aliens arrived here?

It isn’t. Snyder was totally oblivious to damage and thought that 4 strangers that Zod was threatening was an actual threat. My thought on my very first viewing was “who gives a shite since tens of thousands are dead thanks to you showing off and you made out with Lois Lane on the corpses of near Holocaust figures in a single city?”

In the inverse with Ultron, he’s supposed to be a genocidal monster, but he kills like 5 people. It was a complete overreaction to Man of Steel. Ultron is a mass genocidal maniac who needs to killl millions at a time for his character to work. Zod: no, he doesn’t need that or really want that in any iteration in his character. Ultron is a mentally and sexually disturbed individual who wants to wipe out everything that holds him into account, which is actually everything. While he says he wants to wipe out life, he actually wants to wipe out anything that questions himself and his own massive insecurities.

That character killing millions at a time makes sense. It’s totally offputting on everything we’ve gotten from the DC Universe so far.

How many times in how many threads can you say this shite? Do you ever get as exhausted typing it as I do reading it thread after thread? WE KNOW. WE KNOW. WE KNOW.

Now I can move on. Went back tonight for a second viewing and actually enjoyed it more. Going in knowing the faults I really enjoyed the action sequences more the second time and the interplay between the characters. It is a lot to visually process and remember. Got a few legit tingles with the scene of the league standing at the end and Superman's first appearance in costume fighting Steppenwolf. Not great art by any means but if you like to read comic books I don't see how you can't enjoy this movie on some level.

Lois Lane- Amy Adams is a fine actress, but she comes across more than ever as radically miscast.

I’m with you here. I didn’t enjoy seeing her. She looks haggard. Superman can do better.

quote:

Batman- I'm thinking maybe I was bit too forgiving of Affleck's Batman in BvS given how much of a dumpster fire that movie was and him being the only passable thing. He doesn't come off as the badass he is in the comics or the previous film. He is totally overshadowed by everyone else, i

I don’t mind this. He has no powers.
quote:

Steppenwolf- Just garbage. Like who cares? He's just Generic Bad Guy #8. He looks like shite as well, which leads me to-

I kinda liked him. Thought he looked cool with that axe. No, he didn’t look realistic and his dialogue was ultra cliche and his motives were shallow. But still, I liked how he could whip everyone with his axe until Supes showed up.

It was weird how Superman showed up, thrashed Steppenwolf a little, then decided to go save people instead of finishing off the bad guy. So he goes off and leaves the others to deal with Steppenwolf, who we already saw weren’t capable of beating him. Superman is so powerful he couldn’t ended the movie pretty quick.

I just think that Batman should be able to take on Parademons easily. Otherwise he's pretty worthless.

just watched it, and thought it was awesome. I think that most folks who are saying they don’t like it never wanted to.

Batman certainly does seem helpless in these movies, way moreso than Black Widow or Hawkeye ever seem.

Ok I haven’t read every post in this thread but has anyone mentioned all the CGI with Superman’s face?

I really didn’t like the constant CGI Superman face throughout the movie. Why did they do that?

Henry Cavill had a mustache. He was filming MI6 and was contractually obligated to not shave it.
