And to draw a parallel to actual English history, the War of the Roses wiped out so many noblemen of both sides that the eventual victor, Henry VII, has barely any royal blood at all. During his reign and his son’s reign, they continued to attack any potential claimants to the throne to the point that eventually England was ruled by two queens in a row, the next in line after them was also a female but she was executed, and then a Scot king took the crown. So I guess fricky things do happen when the men all kill each other off.

Starks - we know what's left. Bran is supposed to be Lord but he's the Raven and no heirs
Arryns - Little Robert no heirs
Tullys - Edmure - maybe an heir
