To be fair Rugrats was already a pretty “progressive” show for its time. You had Kimi and her mom plus Suzzie being the far more level headed older kid compared to Angelica’s evil arse. Howard and Betty had reverse gender roles and Charlotte was bringing in way more money than Drew.
That being said this show is likely to be an abomination just based on the live action part alone. Part of the charm of the original was that it was a cartoon and did you can’t really do in live action
