Just out of curiosity, does that last statement have any correlation to the episode where Hurley was in the mental institution with Libby?

That episode always seemed very very important to me but nothing has really come of it. Always wondered how Libby went from crazy to getting on the island. Just made me think of it with the white rabbit discussion.

negative

Locke simply wanted to check in on him. As he told Abbadon - "he's been thru enough"

Couldn't agree more Moss.

Also the speech between Christian and Jack after he helps that kid out in the schoolyard....hits me pretty hard.

Nope, nothing to do with Libby. And the writers have said that they won't get to her back story, so they just told us the following:

quote:

How Libby got from being a patient in a mental institution to giving Desmond her boat and ultimately ending up in Australia was originally intended to be explored in season 3[2][3], but was not. She was then slated to appear in multiple episodes of season 4[4] to finish her backstory, and it was stated that those speculating she worked for Widmore were "barking up the right tree." Unfortunately, the writer's strike of 2007 interfered with these plans, as well as the flashbacks of Faraday, Miles, and Charlotte. Unfortunately, as of 2009, mid-way through the second-to-last season, Damon and Carlton felt that they are done with Libby's story. "We feel like we resolved Libby’s fate, and for the fans that are still obsessing about Libby, maybe at some point someone will write sort of a 'Star Wars'-like novel about the story of Libby, but we don’t consider that to be a major story thread for us."[5] Damon later said Libby's portrayer Cynthia Watros was either unable or unwilling to come back to finish Libby's backstory post-season 4 and that they felt it would be cheap to finish it in an off-hand comment from another character.[6] They later revealed in an interview the reason for her being in the institution was her going mad after her husband's death and that it will not be explained without Cynthia's presence.[1]

If Libby returns though, there is a possibility her backstory will be fleshed out in the final season.

Spoiler/Answer about Walt... From the producers on an interview.

Producers said on the Directv special that has been running for the past month that them not recreating flight 815 perfectly is what caused them to end up in diff time periods

Its part of "LOST: The Missing Pieces". They were mini-clips released between the 3rd and 4th seasons. There's another really cool mini-clip in there that wasn't shown in an episode.

I like how this thread is already 8 pages and we're still 3 1/2 hours from the episode.

Id imagine close to 900 pages

We could just do a split thread. Just press the button for every 108 pages.

Nah, I think we are going the right way... Individual threads for each episode then we will get a topic stickied at the top with links to each of the episode threads.

Alright, watching some clips here and there... Ben and Locke in Jacobs cabin.

That scene doesnt make sense knowing what we know at the end of Season 5.

Ben says that he has never talked to Jacob or seen him yet after Locke hears "help me" and the cabin starts to shake, he immediately crabs the chair and tells "Jacob" to stop. I would think if none of this had ever happened, Ben would have scrambled out just like Locke. Ben acts very calm, cool, and collected.

Also, as far as the scene of someone sitting in the chair. We know that Essau can take on the form of dead people on the island. Could the person we see in the chair be someone who is dead on the island that we have yet to meet?

There has to be an explanation. I cant see the writers screwing up that bad. Also, I hope there is an explanation for how Charlie ended up with the fuselage section of the plane and not the cockpit where he was sitting

If Ben didn't think he was going to die, I could see Ben trying to maintain his story by acting like he was still in control.

I'm thinking Essau's true form may only be visible to people who are special, or people he wants to reveal himself to. Hurley could see him because he is special, while Locke could only see him because Essau wanted him to see him.

I'll let it slide with Charlie and assumed he crawled to the same row Shannon and Boone were in.

Why do you think he was sitting near the cockpit?
