"LA X" could be "LA 10", as in this is the tenth time they've landed? Kinda goes with the time loop theories I guess. There has to be significance in the way they spelled it, IMO.
Did they separate the X from the LA

When the plane didn't crash in this alternate timeline, Ethan headed to the mainland in order to convince Claire she didn't need to have the baby at that moment.
Except the island is under water in the alternate time line.

And didn't Ethan offer to birth the baby?
It was Claire's decision to not have Aaron just then, not Ethan's.

I have a nomenclature question. Since most of ones we've known as "The Others" are with Richard and Ben, etc., shouldn't we refer to the people in the Temple as "The Other Others"??
Just asking!

Sidenote: Did anyone think that the first episode "LA X" could be "LA 10", as in this is the tenth time they've landed? Kinda goes with the time loop theories I guess. There has to be significance in the way they spelled it, IMO.
They covered this on Kimmil the other night. The X just signified that the timelines would cross at some point.

I was thinking something along these lines, but I thought the 10 may have stood for 2010. The writers have said the cap between the A and the X matters. I think its unlikely, but that was the best idea I could have come up with for the gap.

Guys, sit back and just watch the show and if your a fan enjoy it!!! Everytime ya'll come up with another theory you look more and more silly.
Thats the joy of being a fan. Trying to figure things out as we watch it. Thats what makes LOST fun. I for one enjoy reading other peoples thoughts and theories. Some are misses, but a lot of them really do help shed light on everything. From book references, to mythology, to biblical analogy...most of which I would not be aware of were it not for my fellow LOST fans. So enjoy fellow LOST fans enjoying LOST, brotha!

These writers had no idea they would be doing this 6 years later and that's very hard to tie this storyline together with the original idea.
J.J., Lindelof, and Cuse have mentioned several times that they've had the beginning and the end plotted out from before the start. They knew exactly how it would all play out. They just needed to write the middle and tie it all together which is showing the brilliance of these writers.

Ethan was brought to the island for the same reason Juliette was, to help the women have children. He only became a nut after spending time with the Otherton others.
The Temple others said that the ash was to keep the smoke monster out. I'm guessing they think Sayid has the same crazy as Rousseau's crew, the same crazy that Claire has.

Ethan was born on the island and lived with The Others as a child.

No, Ethan was born on the Island and most of DHARMA was evacuated shortly before the Incident. I think that the many of them returned to the Island after the Incident, with big exceptions being Charlotte's family and Miles and his mom. Ethan was with Ben when he captured Alex from Rousseau. If he left the Island, it was only for medical training.
Since the Island sunk, its safe to say that Ethan and his mom never returned to the Island.

Hey guys I haven't really watched many episodes of Lost over the years, but I watched the first two of this season so far and I love it! I have no idea what is going one, who these people are or why they are doing what they do, but its fun to watch without even trying to figure it out.
Can anyone give me a an update on how we got to this point? Kind of a cliff notes?

He was off the island when they recruited Juliet.... So he came and went all the time.
