Into S2 so far. I like it okay to watch leisurely but not at binge or cigar level yet.

It's not the type of show that has a lot of action. Too many people go into it thinking that every episode will have something to do with the main character.

Anyone else so put off by Peggy's character they almost don't want to watch? She's fricking horrible.

She's arguably the best character on the entire series.

Most of the big characters have major ups and downs. You will hate and love them at different times.

I think that's the one thing I love about MM. It's show with characters that have high and low moments. Which makes them relatable in a way.

Furthermore it proves that a tv show doesn't need "good" or "bad" characters to be a great series.

Roger Sterling was easily the most fun character. Also as a character I thought Pete was great (not a great guy but they certainly painted a complex character). And I feel like he started to evolve towards the end.

Sterling has his own issues. Granted he is pretty damn funny.

Loved the show. However, I hated the ending. As you said, it had a lot of loose ends to tie up on the last episode. I felt like the writing was lazy about wrapping things up.

Inam kinda of the thought that you really need to have lived through those years to truly understand and appreciate that show.

Those were truly the good old days. PCness be damned ... no holds barred post WWII when America owned the world for the most part. Men were men and women were glad of it ... even the the OG feminists enjoyed the freedom of those days.

I've watched the entire series 4 times. A thing like that!

I highly recommend reading the av club review of each episode after you have watched said episode. That really adds to the experience. Loved me some Rachel Menken. What a hottie.

Give it another chance.

The show is a slow slow burn but it builds until you find yourself inexplicably caring about fictional characters so so much.

Like I said, at first I just didn't understand how this show was so popular. And then as the episodes went on I understood 100%. It is an absolutely fantastic show.

Sally's teacher?

I don't want to giveaway spoilers. But that entire set of events cracks me up. Then again, it also makes complete sense for Don Draper.

Me too.

Breaking Bad was awesome too, but you lose a little in the rewatch IMO. BB is all about those “holy shite moments”. It’s great I’m many other ways, don’t get me wrong, but you’re not gonna make my jaw drop twice.

I loved the 60's, but I'm kind of happy to have air-conditioning EVERYWHERE and TV after midnight and new cars that don't break down after a year.

Then when I rewatched he became one of my favorite characters. Can't really explain why

because you know the cocksucker gets dialed down eventually.

He was my first realization that the show would never go in the direction I thought it would. Early on he's so hateable that you're waiting for something terrible to happen so we can see his comeuppance. Then it doesn't come. He just changes as a person slowly.

Found that was the case with most characters. You're always expecting that explosive TV moment, it never comes but the character just continues to change slowly, like real people.
