Just got back from seeing it. Thought it was a good movie. Both me and my bf read the book and we agreed it was a decent representation of the book. Even though I already knew how it ended, I still teared up at the end. If you are a dog-lover you will esp love this movie.

i just saw this movie. kind of felt long, but i did like it. i did not cry, sorry, i did not cry in that movie, though i almost felt like it. seeing any dog die in real life or fake life is sad. i just don't find myself very happy when something happens to a dog. they have pretty short lives and they pass by so fast that it only feels like a year. dogs live very shirt lives and i wish they lve long lives. good movie though.

I thought it was a good movie...If you have a dog, it really captures how you feel about your pet.
I seldom cry at movies but I was crying(along with the entire theater) at the end.

good lord, we just got back from watching this movie and I boohooed last half hour of the movie. It was a funny movie till the end. Lots of families in there watching this movie. I'm not so sure I would bring a child to see this...

This movie is not for children. I was actually surprised at the content for a "PG" movie, and I'm not one of those overly conservative bastards.

The ending made me cry like a baby. People can die all day long in movies and it doesn't get to me, but an animal will make me cry every time. I shouldn't have watched the movie.

Saw it last night..not a dry eye in the house...including mine. Owen Wilson really can't act but I did like the movie. Well worth seeing. Not terribly funny for me but alot of people were laughing.

i rarely like owen wilson, but i liked him in this. Also, the old marley in the end, looked nothing close to young or middle aged marley. Old marley's face was considerably longer looking, longer snout. Surely they could have found another lab that looked remotely close to the others. Also why was marley a clearance price dog? the dog seller didn't say what was wrong with him.

havent seen the movie, yet, but it sounds like this part differs from the book. In the book,John and Jenny buy Marley from a woman that has had the same mom and dad labs for years and not a pet store. Marley takes after his buck wild dad and not his more refined, well behaved mom...the seller knows this and cuts em a deal to take him.

There was a movie about 20 years ago...can't remember the title...where a kid lost his dog on an island off the coast from where their house was.
So, the kid and dog go to the island on a boat. The dog apparently dies when he falls off a cliff.
The kid takes the boat home and grieves. Then the dog shows up at the door. THE END.

Now, I can understand that the dog may have survived falling off the cliff. But how in the hell did it get off the island? As Ed Wood used to say "Cut! That's GOOD ENOUGH."

Very sad movie at the end. If you have/had a dog you can relate and definitly if you have ever had to put one down before (i will in the future)

Basically, if you didnt at least tear up in this movie (man/woman/child) then you have no soul, period.

The amount of crying I did just pissed me off. The movie really isn't that "good" but a dog dying is always sad. I could've done without seeing that movie. The ending is the only thing I remember about the film.

I enjoyed the movie, but it was nowhere near as good as the book. I cried at both, but literally sobbed my arse off reading the book. Towards the end of the movie, there were a couple scenes that really hit too close to home, and reminded me of what we went thru losing our own dogs.

SPOILERS

I thought the movie wasn't that good. The story just dragged on the family's life, and then at the end, a final montage of extreme sadness was displayed to really hit the audience's emotions. This last scene definitely hit me hard and caused me to get teary eyed, but the rest of the movie did a poor job of making me feel close to the characters, even though I could relate well to their lives.

The camera slowly zooming into the eyes of the dog as it was being put to sleep should cause everyone in the theater to show at least some sort of emotion. Had the movie done a better job during the rest of the story, I probably would have cried like a little girl at the end.

I thought it was a great movie. The scene where the son said goodbye to Marley hit home. That was me with our family dog when I was a young kid.

Not sure why it got a lot of bad reviews. My guess is....

The media is full of libs
Libs are usually pussies
Pussies usually prefer cats to dogs
Thus, they would not like the movie.
