I searched and didn't find anything but wanted to know if I am the only one that thinks Austin Butler is awful in this show? I am 2 episodes in and actively cheer for his plane to get shot down. Just awful acting. He is playing a caricature of a WW2 Pilot complete with the cheesiest, most predictable lines.

There was a thread, the show wasn't very good.

I thought it was a very good show and well done. Didn't mind his character so much, but the brooding quiet persona of his seems to be his only character (outside of Dunes).

The show, however, is very good, and really portrays how brutal flying those bombers were.

I like everything except Austin Butler. He sucks and is kind of ruining it for me. Every scene he is in seems like an unfunny SNL skit where a cast member is purposely being over the top and bad at acting.

Does he get shot down soon?

FWIW, the 2 mains are a bit over the top. My interest is in the realism and supporting cast.

He does get shot down, and the show gets better after he does.

That was not the general consensus of the thread. It got compared to one of if not the best TV shows ever so of course it wasn't that good. It was a very good show just not to the legendary status of BoB.

That's fair, but I still think the show was very meh given the subject matter. It was lacking in a lot of areas, especially effects. They were just plain out bad for the most part.

I wouldn't call the show bad, but I wouldn't call it very good either. Just kinda neutral on it. It's not a rewatch for me.

I didn’t find this show memorable at all

I don’t think I’ve thought once about it since the finale

It's a pretty boring show with characters that you really didn't care about

If it wasn't tied to BOB and was an ongoing series, I think it would be pretty widely liked on this board and S2 would be pretty highly anticipated.

But because of its lineage, it's just ok.

I haven't thought about the show, per se, but I have thought about those men in those airplanes. The show did a god job showing the hell they went through up there. Same with The Pacific.

Butler gets better as the series progresses. Maybe I just git used to him.
