Yeah, Cochran wasn't interested. Aras declined to play. Earl declined because he had just had a kid.

Apparently Tom and Mike were contacted didn't make the cut... which is a shame, I'd have loved to see Tom out there over Adam.

Tina was also contacted but didn't make the cut. For her it might have been concern about her age... she would have been 11 years older than anyone else and one of the older players ever.

I get that it's part of the game, but she NEVER went to a tribal council where she was at risk, without getting voted out.
I didn't want Nat to win, but the other side of this is that Michele survived 15 tribal councils, and that seemed to count for nothing in the end.

Tyson? His comments were the ones that made me pay more attention to what others said and did. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I just got the sense from several of them that this was their last hurrah. Almost all of them were the old school players, and this season kind of showed this game has left them behind the way it has evolved.

Maybe a reunion show is a different thing and they'd all be on board if asked, but I just got the sense several were ready to put Survivor behind them and move on from it.

ETA: I really doubt we see many of them again though... Survivor has too many other potential returnees to get back involved plus there's usually something fun about an all new cast.

Agree with that. I could see Tony coming back on a reunion show to give his commentary on that season or something, but that's about it.

Watch the Ponderosa video from right after they released them from EoE. Many of the contestants are done for good and do view it as a capstone on their careers.

For me, I'm ready to get back to 16 strangers. The all stars just create too many warping dynamics (e.g. Tony and Sarah). I don't like that they had essentially a pre-game alliance.

I agree. It was cool for the 40th season to have a full-blown returnee show. Now, get back to the roots of new people. I am hoping they get rid of EoE and the tokens, to be honest. I thought the tokens was a cool idea, but I feel like they failed in their execution of it.

While they have thrown a few curveballs lately, I'd like to see a season where virtually everything is changed other than a weekly vote off. I think with corona, it could be a good time to do this. People will be starved for new content. So, you won't alienate fans by changing it up drastically for one season. I'd just like to see a season in which the players can't plan for anything because they have no idea what is coming.

It was more than I would have expected.

I still feel like some that said they were done would answer the call if they were invited back.

One idea that I think could be interesting with the tokens is having the tribes win tokens all together as part of early elimination and reward challenges. Then they have to decide how to spend them. Food, shelter, advantages, etc.

I think they need to workshop the tokens some more. It's a solid idea, but yeah - fell a little flat.

I don't like that because it creates even more randomness than already exists. I think I'd like to see a new season that essentially just had the rules of the first season or two - straight up Survivor: survive the elements and don't get your arse voted out.

I want to see another no merge season. Just keep going until one tribe takes out the other, then it's all individual.

What about no tribes at all?

Almost done with this season, and I had forgotten what a whiny, entitled, and arrogant prick Ozzie turned out to be.

They would form their own. Not sure not having no tribes would work but I guess it could be tried.

Could be an interesting wrinkle to the game.

It would definitely be interesting to see how it works if everyone was competing for immunity as individuals from the start.

Would be some pretty huge tribal councils though at first.

Yeah, not sure how that would pan out but it isn't a bad idea.

I've always thought it'd be interesting to have one big tribe, but have a draw for teams for the immunity challenges. Losing team goes to tribal and votes someone out. Would make for some constantly shifting alliances.

Wasn't there a season where there were 3 tribes, but they put them all at the same campsite?

Duh, never mind. It was One World.

I want a “ first out” season of all the peeps who went out like chumps on the first vote. Have a Shame Island for those who get voted out where they have to write an apology note to America for sucking so bad. When their families visit, instead of hugs and tears there would be a Frank Costanza-like airing of grievances. And instead of getting a cool million the winner would be the only one to get a free plane ride home.
