Oh he's fat and black and he made. Look ma! He made it! And then he got shot. Boohoo

Being murdered was the best thing that happened to Big in his career. He was good, but he was nowhere near Tupac as far as skill.
Humble opinion, of course.

Oh yeah, he really got past it.

On March 23, 1996, Biggie was arrested outside a Manhattan nightclub for chasing and threatening to kill two autograph seekers, smashing the windows of their taxicab and then pulling one of the fans out and punching them. He pleaded guilty to second-degree harassment

He was a thug up until the day he died.

Some of ya'll won't see Notorious because he was just a rapper/drug dealer that got shot, but ya'll ran to see Casino, Goodfellas, amongst many other mafia movies, based on true stories; where basically bad people get killed in the end. Not saying that this will be on par with those movies, but it's basiclly the same kind of story. From a drug dealer to a meteoric rise to fame and stardom, to his death.

Yes he still was a thug, but so was Pesci's character in Casino. Give it a chance.

I may not catch it in theaters, but I'll definitely buy it when it comes out.

If nothing else, the soundtrack should be awesome.

I agree 100%. I think some of the people in this thread are worried that they will tone down his thug lifestyle and make it a rags to riches gangsta makes good out of his life Lifetime movie.

I was just making the argument that he never stopped being a thug.

dude, the movie is probably gonna center around his rise to the top of the music industry. i dont really see any of that in your synopsis. pretty cool story on how a high school dropout drug dealer can get past it, write music, and get famous with his talent. that is a great fricking story.

Are you frickin 15 or 16? Why is this a GREAT fricking story?

What the mother frick makes it a great story? LMFAO, I wonder how much money Diddy gets of this retarded arse movie of a fat arse drug dealer from the ghetto that raps and gets killed.

All star cast too I bet...

Wow. Awesome story. Bwahahahahaha

I wonder if the dude playing Biggie will snore while he's awake like Biggie did?

and yeah, I'll see it, but it's def not a multiplex movie, I'll wait for the DVD. What I'm gathering from the previews is it looks like the same production quality of that MC Hammer movie that came on VH-1 a few years ago.

Started selling drugs at the age of 12. Dropped out of high school. In 1989, he was arrested on weapons charges in Brooklyn and sentenced to five years' probation. In 1990, he was arrested on a violation of his probation. A year later, Biggie was arrested in North Carolina for dealing crack cocaine. He spent nine months in jail until he made bail.

On March 23, 1996, Biggie was arrested outside a Manhattan nightclub for chasing and threatening to kill two autograph seekers, smashing the windows of their taxicab and then pulling one of the fans out and punching them. He pleaded guilty to second-degree harassment and was sentenced to 100 hours community service. In mid-1996, he was arrested at his home in Teaneck, New Jersey, for drug and weapons possession charges.

In January 1997, Biggie was ordered to pay $41,000 in damages following an incident involving a friend of a concert promoter who claimed to have been beaten and robbed by Biggie and his entourage following a dispute in May 1995.

Great story!

So his legal history makes it a bad story?
Using that argument Goodfellas is a bad story.
Young kid grows up fast, makes money, rises to the top, falls from glory.
Nobody is confusing Christopher Wallace for Mother Theresa if that's your concern.

Not at all, just isn't very original either. Didn't every rapper grow up with 'nothing' , start selling drugs, then become a rapper?

That's how Vanilla Ice lived it, not sure about the rest though.
