I thought they were both pretty good actually. Different and kind of twisted but I liked it. I get people who don't like it though. It's a lot of time invested

ETA: I just looked up the poster and it makes this post even funnier. Literally any girl could recreate that look in 8 seconds. Mess up their hair, close eyes, open mouth. Boom, there's the "hottest movie poster of all time"

I think there comes a time in every movie aficionado's life when he or she just has to accept that Lars von Trier is going simultaneously capture your imagination and ruin your appetite in every single one of his movies. I haven't actually seen the Nymphomaniacs -- they don't sound like movies I'd find engrossing and if I'm desperate for unbridled sex, I have a wife and an intimate knowledge of her schedule so I know when it's safe to surf porn -- but I've seen a few others ("Melancholia", "Dogville", "Dancer in the Dark", as much of "Antichrist" as I could stomach) and this is the one truism I've come away from the experiences with.
He's actually a very good filmmaker in many ways, though. You just have to accept his movies on their own terms because they're not going to be pure examples of cinematic masterpieces.

I'm trying to figure out if that's Charlotte Gainsbourg. Looks a little young to be her, but the angle makes it hard to tell. Charlotte's not hot hot, if you know what I mean, but I think she can do sexy pretty well when she wants to.
