It came off like Jonah barely knew Ben and now he’s on this fricking crusade against his family because of the way they had Ben killed. Lol

You think it's odd that a 14 year old reacts irrationally to the news that his mom killed his uncle?
Posted on 1/23/22 at 7:21 pm to joshnorris14
One would think that a 14 year old would side with his actual parents and sister over his uncle that just came into the picture.

I'm on episode 4. I'd beat that kids butt with a belt before I allowed him to mouth off like that to. his mom or I. Marty just looks so weak dealing with his son.
Maybe the point is they're crappy parents, but usually criminals at least instill loyalty and respect in their children.
Its just so odd to me this kid was background fodder, never goes to school and is now some master money launderer writing his own code.
He can be talented but still eat a belt lunch for dinner for all I care.

That uncle was going crazy and putting their family at risk of a cartel hit. Jonah acts like they aren't in danger.
Jonah would be killed for working with Darlene, too.
Wyatt is still worse though.

Poor Wyatt has no pull out game. He drops loads in that bucket.

*SPOILERS*
Ben was going to get the entire family killed by telling everyone what was going on. Wendy consulted with their lawyer before calling in Jonah so she knew because he was a minor he would likely never see the inside of a prison and his record would be expunged when he turned 18.
Every move Wendy made in those two situations was calculated and was in the best interest of the family’s safety.

Probably b/c he's learning from his dad, who we are finding out more and more (from Navaro and the FBI) that he is a genius at what he does. He's not an average accountant that was put into this predicament, he's one of the best in the world at what he does.

Or maybe Marty sort of agrees more with his son than his wife.
I mean Wendy even said it "don't act like your proud he's laundering at 14".
Marty is proud at what he's doing, and maybe he's the parent that isn't being an irrational count towards his child. Maybe there were other alternatives to killing Ben. Jonah obviously doesn't agree with it, and Marty doesn't either.
throughout all of this, Marty hasn't once acted like a Cartel member in any way. You never see him with a gun (him trying to take it and threaten that guy was hilarious, and that scene further shows that Marty doesn't know how to threaten anyone physically), and he certainly never approved a hit on anyone, much less his brother. You never see him stand up for himself or try to strong arm anyone. First time he's ever done something like that is when he hangs up on Navarro when he was talking to the old friends in chicago. He's doing what he has to do to stay alive and protect his family, as well as Ruth b/c he still cares about her, and he wants out of this.
Marty doesn't tell Ruth and Darlene if you don't stop then i'll have the cartel kill you, which is what the crazy nephew pretty much told him to do (I would imagine that lunatic really wanted to see if Marty would do it himself, and that would be his way of knowing maybe he can trust the Byrdes). He warns them to please stop or they are going kill you, and you know Darlene isn't going to listen to that.
Wendy seems to relish this opportunity, and more and more is becoming the type of leader you'd expect from a cartel, not a suburban family of 4.
Jonah sees this, and so does Marty.
What do you think Marty was going to say when he said "when we get back to Chicago you and I........." and then Wendy says "what? finish your sentence."

Wendy is just Walter White

I might not be the best at interpreting things in movies, and maybe its just my always active sexual thinking mind here, but did Navarro basically tell Wendy to think about him the next time she's masturbating?

No I think it was when she was bored because normal life won't be enough for her after breaking bad.
I took it as more of him normalizing his pathology as she becomes more pathological.

Dumbest thing I’ve every heard come out of a human mouth:
“I’m going to marry Darlene.” -Wyatt
“I’m going to marry Darlene.” -Wyatt

I could see that. My brain always goes sex thoughts first.

I'm only on episode 4 of the new season but I forgot how insanely unlikable every single character on this show is
The only one I remotely feel empathy for is Charlotte. And part of me suspects even that'll change before I finish Part 1.
