Anyways… back to talking about this movie.

I really really enjoyed it.

I won’t say “I enjoyed every minute” but out of 107 minutes I highly enjoyed 90+ of them.

It’s a very different movie than the rest of the franchise but leaned into a lot of great Alien/Predator lore. Fanning and Bud stole the show.

Would recommend.

I went back yesterday and was reading old Predator comics.
Most were pretty good. Some were pretty bad.
To me it's funny that people consider this movie Disney-fied when they have had worse crossovers.

But honestly these were awesome...

What bothers me the most is that people are upset that the Predator Dek showed some emotion. To me it's insane that such an advanced species would be one dimensional.. think how varied us humans are. Would it not make sense for Yatjua to have similar differences from person to person?

I'm fine with it having no humans. It was a solid movie. Better than the Avps, predator 2 or the predator by far.

I enjoyed it.

I just hope they don’t make a habit of making predators more emotional.

They’re always trying to prove themselves. But never are they soft.

Hopefully the next installment will be more along the lines of brutally killing every single threat they face. And in the most gruesome way.

And hopefully it will be a timeline version. I read he thought of having a WW2 predator movie. That would be awesome.

I'm actually shocked looking at the box office how little money Predator movies historically made.
..
The original didn't crack $60m .

quote:

After one week in theaters, Predator: Badlands now stands at $51.5 million domestically. Unadjusted for inflation, it has already outgrossed Predator 2 ($30.6 million), Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem ($41.7 million), and The Predator ($51 million). Badlands is on the verge of passing Predators ($52 million) and is quickly approaching the lifetime total of the original Predator ($59.7 million), meaning it’s close to becoming the highest-grossing solo Predator movie of all time. The first Alien vs. Predator earned $80.2 million domestically.

This one seems well liked by people who saw it and disliked by people who refuse to see it.

Still in all. The movie was a hit and it's well recieved.

I just didn't realize how poorly earlier Predators did finacially. This will be the best grossing non alien predator movie.

It's funny to me the critics who haven't seen the movie often call it soft or Disneyfied. When the "disney" character has multiple kills.

. Movie spoiler posted for people who will never watch the movie...

Irony is the "disney" character is basically a baby Kaiju.

I was reluctant to bump the thread but I took my grandnephew (15yo) to see it, it was his choice. He loved it, he is in our home theater watching the OG now, he had never seen it. I really liked it and not sure how people hate it but it isn't as raw as the OG. The OG was different in you knew nothing about them and learned as the humans learned we have gained more insight into them over the years and this is just a step further.

Nope, CGI looks terrible and the Predator looks terrible.

1st time I saw the preview, I immediately thought it was for a new video game.

It’s worse than a video game it’s a princess movie about friendship and girl bosses. It even has a female Grogu. This is the direction Disney has gone with Predator.

Lol at this guy who hasn't seen this movie yet has over 25 posts in this thread trying to convince people that actually saw it that it's a bad movie.

What a chode. I don't think he can see how big a loser he is.

Anyway..

quote:

Predator: Badlands is going steady at the box office as the film crosses $130 million at the box office surpassing it's budget of $105 million, and making back the money spent to produce it. With just one week at theaters, the film has seen a positive climate in terms of reviews, ratings and earnings, making it the third biggest film in the franchise.
