There are no goal posts being moved. Just your cope and head canon.
Did you see Minecraft? I didn't, but it did really well. Superman and FF, not so much. Didn't see those either, and I was completely justified.
I did see the summer winner, Jurassic World - rebirth, and was very unimpressed. Saw a better dino movie in the very low budget Primitive War. It was goofy at times, but not Sharknado bad.
Until Hollywood stops subverting expectations, I'll keep calling this stuff out. Deal with it.

Didn’t watch or talk about peacemaker after episode 1 so that’s another lie.

Let’s help him out even giving a very conservative marketing budget(it’s absolutely more)
Even if we give the movie the benefit of the doubt and assume the marketing budget was lower than likely, the picture barely improves. Instead of a $100M–$150M campaign, that puts marketing at roughly $80M–$120M. Added to the $130M production cost, the total investment becomes $210M–$250M. With a current worldwide total of about $140M after two weeks and a massive new release arriving in soon, the film is still tracking toward a final worldwide run of $200M–$240M, with a best-case scenario around $250M. The steep daily declines and poor second-weekend hold indicate extremely weak legs and certain bad word-of-mouth both domestically and internationally.
Even under this friendlier marketing assumption, the financials remain ugly. A $210M–$250M all-in cost versus a projected $210M–$240M worldwide gross means the studio will only receive ~$105M–$120M once theater cuts are removed. That results in a likely loss of –$90M to –$140M. So yes — the smaller marketing spend softens the blow, but it’s still a major flop by any industry standard, and nowhere near break-even territory.

This is why I said we’ll have to wait and see. Right now production budget is saying $105mil and advert budget is $60 mil so to be fair I said $160-170. We know Disney typically lies about their budgets and with the recent SW trilogy numbers that came out it’s pretty safe to say they do this with everything they put out so your estimates could be perfectly correct. Whatever the case, if we lowball and go by the numbers I posted it needs to clear $320-340 and if we use yours it needs to hit around $480 to even reach profitability. What that poster was saying is that hitting $110 had already put it into profit which is ridiculous even at the most ignorant understandings of box office numbers because it automatically excludes the theaters and suggests that they just operate for free somehow.

I want to point out that I was simply discussing reported Box Office totals. Domestic and international. Not factoring profits and other revenue.
Looking at simply reported Box office totals its the highest grossing Stand alone Predator movie. That's a simple fact. Now other factors like production and marketing cut into that. And yes if isn't making back what 1987 made.
My only point was that historically Predator movies don't have strong legs in the box office and this one was doing well.
This movie also has a lot of critics who haven't seen it but that's besides the point.
The points you make about profitability are valid. But never once did i even allude to black vs red and ROI.
I SIMPLY pointed out box office totals as reported.
Yeah maybe it will lose money. Like most other movies being released. The new hollywood accounts for that.
Bottom line is. Most posters in this forum who saw this movie enjoyed it for what it was.
Not all movies i like make a ton of money.
Even with your doom and gloom projections it looks like Tractenburg is given a green light to proceed with more in universe movies.

Their mission is to get people to not watch movies that they haven't watched.
If I HAD a mission it'd be to get Hollywood to stop making trash movies where we get known characters and franchises swapped, retconned and encoded with 'current day' BS that always ever goes only in one direction.

The majority of posters here who saw this movie liked it. But these two post so much about how bad it was is almost like it's sponsored.
Well, not many DID watch it. Why? Because Disney can't stop being Disney.
quote:
I mean one says he doesn't have time to watch the movie yet posted a 120 minute review of it.
100% correct. I don't have time for BAD movies, but I DO have time for cleverly written and edited vids breaking down said movies. Do I need to spell it out for you? One is far more entertaining than the other.
quote:
I suggest we all just stop responding to them.
A response is not required. I thought that was implied.

Just got out. Incredible. I’d give that a 9/10 for theater experience. Anyone on the fence should go see it.

That's the review most posters here have. The guy who didn't even see it and the other guy who maybe saw it wasn't everyone to think it sucks.
But it didn't.
It's ok to not like a movie. Is not ok to shite in a movie you haven't seen because of YouTube critics.
He won't get that though and will keep doing it.
Few posters who saw it didn't like it. It's easily one of the more popular movies among posters who saw it. Every other blovkbuster i can think of was more decisive.

It's now the highest grossing film in the Predator franchise.
Posted on 11/23/25 at 8:55 pm to Jay Are
-AVP finished at over $177 mil
-The Predator made over $160 mil
-Predator trash can is sitting at $159 mil so that’s not true.
It’s not going to make money. Dressing it up with misleading nonsense doesn’t change that fact. Other Predator movies did make money, the original made 6x its budget, so pretending this one exceeded them is just shill drivel and cope.

This dude is on a roll against this movie. He has been since way before he saw it. He has dozens and dozens of posts in this thread. For a movie he didn't like. It truly shows how insane he is.

And you can’t quit talking about me or crying about the actual facts. You just keep pushing your hypocritical BS and made up nonsense.
