Right. The Predator almost killed the franchise with the autistic kid and the bus full of crazy soldiers. Not to mention human/yatjua hybrids while still being the same take on the hunt.
This is at least something different. It expanded the lore. You have to think an advanced civilization with ftl space travel would have more to them than just hunting on earth.

It added to the lore without taking away anything from past movies.

Just got out. Wow! What a good movie. I enjoyed it. The tie ins to alien with the wuhan corporation was great. We finally get to see what them specimens from alien earth can do. Highly recommended.

Ok. I'm torn on that one. When it came out I hated Predators. But after rewatch a few times it grows on me. But Brody and Topher Grace were bad casting. But most of the other cast I liked. Fishburn was good. I liked the Yakuza vs Super Predator. I liked that they had different clans. But a lot of that movie didn't land. It's a C-tier for me.
Better than the AVPs and The Predator but below 2 and Prey and this movie.

I agree that there’s some good stuff in there, mostly from trying to expand the universe and swing bigger than the other iterations, but the bad was real bad

Yeah. The dude from The Piano trying to be a hard arse was very laughable.

It was on today and had it on in the background and I actually think the story fits better now than when it was released. Makes more since in the timeline. I watch the 1st part a lot when they 1st get to the planet to when they find the Predators.

So I'm torn on going to see this. First I know really nothing about the predator series but half reviews say they loved it and it seems like the other half, which are hardcore lore fans, hate this movie. Trying to decide between this and bugonia

That’s pretty good. I think word of mouth will give this movie legs to have a good second and third week.

It really is a blast at the theater.

Decided to go see it and I liked it. The way the end fight scenes with the legs and other parts were done very cleverly. One question, what's the significance of the end when he says that's his mother? Is that something I would need to see the other movies to get?

Its pg13. 9 is fine.
It's not that bad compared to earlier ones. You haven't seen it yet based in your replies.

Idk i was watching plenty of R rated movies at 9. I saw Predator 2 in theaters at 10.

there’s such a large median of where parents land on what age that kind of stuff is cool to watch. which is why it’s always kind of funny when I see people ask that in here without much context to what the kid may have already seen before.

I’ve seen people who won’t let their teenagers watch violent movies, meanwhile Robocop was my favorite movie at like age 7-8

We've never seen a female predator on screen. In the comics Predator society is ran by the women. They are the ones who make day to day choices and run society. They are tougher then the males. But very little is known.
The yajuta are Matriarcal.

Most people in this thread who have seen it have liked it. But sure listen to what you want. You repkied to your earlier comment that shows your mind is made up without seeing it

Yeah my parents would take us to R rated movies and try and cover our eyes for nudity. My brothers favorite movie at 5 years old was T2. He would watch it all day long.
I honestly find most video games worse than movies.

Dan Trachtenberg is the hero of the hour as his new movie, Predator: Badlands, has ended the drought at the domestic box office and kicked off November in high style. The movie opened well ahead of expectations to top the domestic box office chart with a franchise-best $40 million from 3,725 theaters (prerelease tracking had it opening to $25 million). Overseas, it likewise took in $40 million for a global start of $80 million.
