My parents were very liberal with what they allowed me to watch as a kid, pretty much anything. This along with aliens, and the original trilogy got played all the time during rainy days in the summer in my house.

and why does Billy cut his chest before he faces down with the predator in a fist battle? What is the significance. They had not found out that predator sees in thermo imagining yet. Is this a tribal thing or just billy being a bad arse? Discuss.

What made it special was that you didn't know what the movie was about when it first came out. It started out as a contra-guerilla recon thing and then you only knew as much as the characters did. Anyone watching a remake would start with way too much information.

Excellent movie, I also read the book for Predator 2 after watching it. AVP was god-awful.
