i think your rankings are pretty good - I might flop Insurrection and Nemesis, but that would be the only critique.

for me, I do not lump the Kelvin 3 movies in with Star Trek - to me they are Star Trek, but not if that makes sense.

and I did enjoy the Kelvin 3

Star Trek (2009)

Are the best from each generation of movies. Really completely different movie eras for each of them, so hard to say which is "better". I really enjoyed 2009 a lot more than I expected.

I thought First Contact was the best of the TNG movies, and it ranks above UC for me, not because I think UC is bad but because I thought FC was very good.

I was more curious about Final Frontier (Star Trek V) being above them. Sorry for not being clear.

I love Wrath of Kahn, but Voyage Home is my second favorite and my wife's favorite. It's the only one she'll watch multiple times (and no, not just because of the whales).


Fun tidbit: While weapons are used in every Star Trek movie with the original cast, Voyage Home only has *ONE* time a future weapon is used - to fuse a lock with a hand phaser. That's it.

Final Frontier was the first ST I saw in theaters. I remeber being so confused by the story and not liking it at all as a kid. But 6 I saw next and it was badass.

Kahn is like a great serious episode of TOS. Voyage Home is like a great fun episode. I think that part of our reasoning behind going to San Francisco for our honeymoon was because of Voyage Home. I didn't get to see the whales though. :(
