Hoping she wasn’t absorbed in the the hotel like Jack was. RIP.

God bless her. Her Fairie Tale Theater was pretty damn impressive. The stars and directors that she got for that Showtime series elevated kids' programming.

I'm glad her personal struggles are over. She was great in everything, from The Shining to Popeye to Roxanne.

She suffered from severe mental health issues for the past couple decades and her appearance on "The Dr. Phil Show" highlighted her issues where he was accused of exploiting her problems for the shows ratings and drew the ire of Duvall and her fans alike.
According to the news release I saw, she died of complications from diabetes.
RIP Ms. Duvall

She was a brilliant actress, honestly one of the best of the last 60 years, but her well publicized mental and physical health issues shortened her onscreen career. Shelley was great in everything she did and that is high praise.

Kubrick really abused her on the Shining set as well. Almost a crime, but he got a damn good performance out of her.

Sometimes I really wonder.
Thinking Robin Williams is a live and a shape shifter seems like excessive drug use.

Umm she was on drugs that entire time
If someone working for me was getting drunk on the job I’d be pissed too. Except here she’s too busy snorting cocaine.

Well Duvall had a complete mental breakdown on the set for months on end to where she wasn’t really acting in many of the scenes and was that traumatized. Like he made her and Jack reshoot this scene 127 times literally. Even Jack has said that Kubrick was abusive towards her, and of course Jack was doing coke on the set too.

Yeah I always kind of feel bad for loving The Shining because of how badly he treated her. If fricking Jack Nicholson has to tell you to stop being a fricking a-hole...I cant imagine what Kubrick put her through.

Very much agree. Kid's programming was at a much higher level back then because of actresses like her.
I never saw her in anything she didn't help make better. Mental illness is a frightening and sad thing and I'm glad it can't do any more damage to her now.

Faerie Tale Theatre.

Teri Garr, Jean Stapleton, Ed Begley Jr,, Michael Richards, Anjelica Huston on the cast. Also a bunch of good "Guest Interviewees" .
IMDb
It's not on Paramount. Just Watch says it's not streaming anywhere.
The whole series and individual episodes available to buy on Amazon.
Might check out a couple od the episodes.

RIP Olive Oyl
The movie was ahead of its time. If anything, it is the most "on-the-nose" conversion of a cartoon to live action there has ever been.
And, while the principal cast all nailed it, Shelley was probably the best of the bunch as Olive.

Really??? So severe mental health issues played no part in her delusions, therefore it had to be drugs................
