Superior in so many ways to the Gilded Age. And I would think Gilded Age would have a significantly larger budget. I can't decide if it's intentional.

It just lacks all the warmth of Downton Abbey. And most of the acting is atrocious.

I think the Peggy Scott storyline in The Gilded Age is totally out of place with the rest of the show. If the show had two primary threads Gilded Age society and Russell and the robber barons, with occasional detours covering the lives of the staff of the houses, it would be a better show. But Lord Fellows has a pretty good track record, so I guess he knows what he's doing.

Great show. Always enjoy it. My biggest gripe is that they really pile it on with the misery of bates and Anna. I thought it became exhausting how much bad stuff happened to them. I also hate that Matthew’s actor left the show almost as soon as he and Mary figured it all out. Mary is a total count

Dowager countess is GOAT

Don't forget to watch Gosford Park.

Just finished all 6 seasons. About to do the movies in preparation for the next movie release. I really liked how they ended the series. Barrow became if not a good man at least one that is trying to change. Mary became far more of a bitch as the seasons went on. Ms Patmore definitely became my favorite character.
