Movie boats threads always devolve into that.

To that end, I’ll be curious to see what the ratings look like when they’re released. Fingers crossed!
people forget Scrubs was getting 15 million viewers a night back in 2002. If they got 20% of that last night not counting streaming we are in luck. Fingers crossed.
Breaking bad was getting 1.5 million viewers when it aired

They’ve done every press junket imaginable. Despite me not really knowing it was coming back until recently, it has been all over my algorithm

I didn't get into the show until season 4 and binged it.

So, you just don’t like the joke.
The setup was weak, and the writing for the joke was poor

The fact that they’re calling out the rampant PC in today’s culture is unappealing to you because you are a massive liberal who loves PC culture? You were slapped in the face by PC culture recently and this portrayal of modern America stings you?
Like I said. . .half the board thinks I am a woke liberal
The other half thinks I am some MAGA anti-woke

Cox did not quit because he was not PC. He quit because he can not relate to the new "doctors" because they are too whiny, soft and self absorbed. The English doctor is just an English version of the intern that was so bad he became a coroner. Tik Tok Doc is supposed to be the new Elliot but she is unlikeable. The callus A hole who refused to treat the homeless person is a copy of the same dr in Greys Anatomy.
The new show was good and there were times I laughed out loud, but just like Scrubs:Med School the new cast doesn't have it.

So apparently this thread has already devolved into some idiocy...there's a fricking surprise. Let me guess, it involves CP3's incessant bullshite? So if that's the case, I'll just drop my thoughts in here and ignore the first 5 pages of the thread.
Caught the first two episodes last night and really liked it. There were some things I didn't care for, but all in all I thought it was solid.
The intro was a great modernization. And I loved the end quote of the first episode with JD saying "I can't do this all on my own."
The HR chick from SNL is absolutely awful. Like "makes me want to not watch the show" awful. I don't even know why, she just is. And I even like the idea of an HR person trying to keep Cox in line. I think I just hate her face or something like that. But she made me want to punch my TV.
Was it me or was JD slurring his speech a little bit? Dr. Cox seemed like it as well...is he sick or something? But when JD spoke, it sounded like his Ss were just....off. Hard to explain.
I actually like the dynamic of JD and Elliott being divorced, and that should make for some easy jokes. I wonder if they had kids (I don't think any were referenced last night).
Seemed a little too easy for JD to simply be there for a day and then magically get the Chief of Medicine job. It's a sitcom, so whatever...but did he even give his current job any notice?
Also liked how they tried to take a serious route with Turk and being burnt out from the job.
The interns were all fairly weak and way too stereotypical, but I can live with that.
The Todd was very weak, but he sort of always was in the OG series too.
I hope John C. McGinley sticks around similar to how Kelso did in latter seasons of the OG show. I always like him in just about everything, and Scrubs is obviously his GOAT performance.
I did hate the two charge nurse people. It also sort of stood out to me how they were pushing gay shite (with the charge nurse and also the Asian doc - I was really glad to know that he fricked both the girl and the guy in that couple...that was necessary information).
The JD dreams were weak, but I suspect that will improve.
I found a lot of the jokes sort of weak, but they were also solid efforts. So I took that as something that will come around once the show falls into rhythm. So assuming that the first few episodes will be the weakest, I think the quality of these is a good sign. If this is as "bad" as it gets, then the show should be pretty solid once it finds its footing.

This show hasn’t been on in almost 20 years and we get new episodes that were fantastic and people still complain. I think we need time to see the side characters have their serious moments.
I miss Laverne and Ted.

I enjoyed the first 2 episodes. Definitely hit all the original Scrubs notes.
Scrubs, at its best, is a drama wrapped with silly jokes and great side characters.
The drama in episodes was ok. Felt kinda forces but that happens. The silly jokes were definitely there and on par with the original Scrubs.
We shall see how well the side characters build.
It was great to see Hooch. He sho is crazy.

nah. Scrubs is so much smarter and better written than friends. Scrubs was never about will they or won't they. They will work towards recapturing their friendship and becoming co parents. They both will have love interests this season.

That was great. The good thing with Scrubs is there are about a million side characters to sneak in there. And I assume Bill Lawrence is gonna try to get as many in as he can.
I just really hope Dr. Cox isn't a one and done character to kick off the show. The fact that he was so sincere with JD makes me wonder if he really is gonna be gone for good. And I know JCR doesn't care much about acting anymore these days and is sort of hyper focused on the Downs stuff.

series creator Bill Lawrence has explained the thought process behind the decision. He noted that the revival was conceived around the idea of evolution. “But Aseem, the showrunner, when they came to me with their idea, it was, it’d be cool to see those students as the teachers now, and to do that, you need to see somebody take Dr. Cox’s role,” he said.
Lawrence added, “J.D. had to step in the mantle of, you need to be for these kids what I was to you, the dynamic between J.D. and Dr. Cox is such a big one.” However, the creator also emphasized that Cox remains an essential presence within the series. “Dr. Cox is a huge character on the show,” he said, confirming that the character “comes back at the end of the show and will continue on next year.”
John C. McGinley, who portrays Dr. Cox, also noted that his character’s retirement is not a final farewell. “I’ll come back to the hospital in a profoundly different capacity,” he said, suggesting that the character’s influence will continue.

Easily the worst part of the show but I do think the idea is good. There was one bit she did that made me chuckle so hopefully they find her groove

I have mixed feelings about this one because it was such a huge part of the ending to the original run. Would rather they show them drowning in kid shite, but I guess Carla and Turk are doing that.

A bit easy, but Cox giving him his support probably swayed the board enough. And JD had his own concierge practice so the only one he needed to give notice to was himself really. I guess his client base may be fricked.

Easily the second worst part of the show but luckily they were used sparingly. And yeah, the gay shite is annoying. Though I think the Asian guy is bi since he slept with both the guy and girl in the couple and broke them up.

The first episode really suffered from this and the second ep was better, imo. So hopefully you’re right. Two mediocre Scrubs episodes but undoubtedly Scrubs and not some other bullshite.
