Yep, the filler stuff is better than plot.
i think thats the purpose with this kind of show by Judge
while he wants the story to be a good one, he realizes that the little comments and interactions are what makes it comedic genius
He didnt make Silicon Valley to give you a great tale about a start up tech company.
He made Silicon Valley to give you Dinesh/Gilfoyle, Jared knowing about Sphincter drugs, Erlich throwing a kids bike over a hedge, Richard being awkward, Gavin being a meglomaniac, etc...

I hate to have to come here yet again with frustration on the guys losing. This was better than last weeks episode, but still kinda frustrating.
I do agree with everyone that this sets up the season to end on a high note, but what's the point of all the failure just to get a win?
There is still a lot of work to be done so I don't buy the failure to keep the show going, because even with some wins for these guys, they are a long ways away. It's so true that the best stuff in this show is the random filler dialogue between coders. I will watch this episode a couple more times this week before passing full judgement, but I'm ready for some success, and soon.
I thought they were using the Entourage model of winning losing winning losing, but it has surpassed that model and gone to losing losing losing winning. Sure Tech Crunch was great, but does it make up for failing the rest of the season? I'm just not sure yet.

Agreed. That stuff is terrific and makes the show.
That's why the lose-lose-lose-lose-win m.o. needs to be dialed back. Its kind of distracting and it takes away from some of these interactions after a while.

They will become winners next season just so we get the batch of new jokes of them handling success.
Get to see Dinesh getting women because he has money. Get to see Erlich have a reason to be super obnoxious. Get to see people sucking up to awkward Richard.
Not sure what Jared or Gilfoyle will do with the money. Jared will be buying some weird shite I guess? Gilfoyle will probably be about the same.

The hits keep coming.
Funny episode. I loved the Filipino guitar joke.

I looked for it earlier and couldn't find it.
Yep, frick Raviga and frick the new chick. I am shocked that Monica didn't lose her job voting against them with her board seat.
I thought that Richard would find out what happened with Monica knocking on the door wanting a job.

Didn't Raviga have 2 seats? They needed Monica's vote to ensure majority.
I thought she would refuse to vote with Raviga in ousting Richard.

Awesome. Ends on a fail. That's getting tired.

So, it is actually Richard that is Steve Jobs.

That is what I mean. Erlich has one, Richard has one, Russ had two and Raviga had one with the agreement that Monica vote it. I really thought she would vote against Raviga and lose her job in the process.

Well, two of the votes weren't present, so I guess the vote was 2-1?
Posted on 6/14/15 at 9:46 pm to Warfarer
Yeah, I was surprised she didn't.
So now there are 4 PP board members. I hope Monica switches sides and votes with Erlich in blocking the next CEO appointment.
A year is a long time to wait.

so is next season Richard taking them to court over Russ not paying them so his agreement doesn't stand? If Richard isn't part of the company then what is the show? And I assume that it has already been picked up for another season or that finale might go down as the worst ever if it isn't picked up again.

All they needed was majority (3 votes) present to oust Richard. Monica had to have voted with Raviga in order for Richard to be removed.

It has been renewed for a third season.
My early guess is Monica changes her mind and sides with Erlich so that a new CEO can't be appointed. Don't really know what kind of leverage could be used to get Richard back as CEO.

I agree but really enjoyed this episode, way better than the last two.
