The TLJ interpretation of balance is weird. If the presence of good always leads to the presence of evil, what is the point of any of this?
But that is the true meaning of balance. With strong light, there must also be strong darkness.

Your first mistake is thinking that anything that happened in The Force Awakens is linked to this past shitshow. It’s painfully obvious that Rian Johnson gave zero fricks about what Abrams set up.

Since you seem to really have your finger on the pulse of this, any theories on the big reveal of Rey's lineage in Episode IX?
I still really like the feel of a Palpatine saving the galaxy from a Skywalker this time around but so many people have guessed that that I'm sure JJ is too chickenshit to go in that direction out of fear of being labeled too obvious.
But since we all know she is going to find out about her parents next movie, who do you think they are?

I guess you never learned about "don't judge a book by its cover" when you were growing up. Just because you were right, doesn't mean the title of the movie made it obvious.
I wonder what you thought A clockwork orange, or Monster's ball was about

They are junk traders who sold her for drinking money

Could she be another "force jesus"?
Posted on 12/20/17 at 11:35 am to AggieDub14
That doesn't make sense. Why would a Palpatine need to sell a child for drinking money?

Her parents are nobody. Just like broom kid.

It's obvious that Rey's parents are Obi-Wan's father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate.

That is me using your technique of applying a deeper meaning to a title that doesn’t have a deeper meaning.

Did you know that the title "The Last Jedi" is actually plural?
The Last group of Jedi is essentially what the title is.
Foreign translations of the film confirm this.

I do like this movie. I was afraid the 2nd viewing would ruin it for me, but I actually liked it more.

You live in Houston and have lived in Baton Rouge. I will not take any insulting of College Station seriously from the likes of you.

Snoke even says it. As you grow stronger, your counterpart in the light will rise.
How the hell does he know?
What has been shown about Snoke that leads you to trust in anything that he said? I mean Kylo whipped his arse, yet couldn't defeat Finn or Rey
WTF does that say about his knowledge of the force?

Rey's father is Darth Maul. He spent a wild drunken night on Jakku with a human slave girl who later sold Rey for drinking money. Hence her force powers and skill with the staff.
You heard it here first.

He linked Kylo and Reys minds with ease. Dude is powerful.
